Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Senior Math and Science Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching various science subjects, including but not limited to biology, chemistry, and physics. This role involves creating an engaging learning environment that fosters student curiosity and encourages academic excellence.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with educational standards and cater to diverse learning styles. Conduct engaging classroom activities that promote critical thinking and hands-on learning experiences, including laboratory experiments. Provide individualized tutoring support to students who require additional assistance in understanding scientific concepts. Assess student performance through various evaluation methods, providing constructive feedback to enhance their learning journey. Collaborate with colleagues to design interdisciplinary projects that integrate science with other subjects such as math and technology. Maintain a safe and organized laboratory environment, ensuring all safety protocols are followed during experiments. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and any concerns related to classroom performance or behavior. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and advancements in science education.

Experience

A minimum of 2 years of classroom experience in teaching science subjects is preferred. Strong background in tutoring students at various academic levels, particularly in science and math disciplines. Experience working with special education students is a plus, demonstrating the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs. Proven communication skills that facilitate effective interactions with students, parents, and colleagues.
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 - 15 per week
