Overview:
EXL Engineering Inc. is looking for a full-time Senior Materials Testing Technician / Project Lead to join our team in Kamloops, BC. This position is for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic, variable, and technical environment on a team of hard-working individuals.

The Senior Materials Technician / Project Lead will coordinate and conduct laboratory and field testing for various projects. This includes performing lab materials testing, training new employees, maintaining laboratory certifications, communicating test results, and working directly with clients.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Put your problem-solving skills to work to help resolve quality-related issues; Assist in laboratory and field testing of aggregate, soils, and concrete. Training new employees. Maintain laboratory certifications and equipment. Communicate test results and provide technical advice to clients. Work with our other branch locations to help service projects as needed. Ensure safety guidelines are followed in the lab and field. Keep the lines of communication open through regular attendance to site meetings and site visits; Review quality specifications and technical design documents;
Requirements:

2+ years' experience in the construction industry and in quality control on construction projects; B.Sc. in civil engineering or a CET or a combination of education and industry experience; A minimum of 1-year experience with BC Ministry of Transportation Standard Specifications; Outstanding organizational skills; A dynamic and creative approach with a flair for being proactive and applying good judgement techniques in all situations; Strong communications skills, both verbal and written; Good computer skills are a must.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $35.00-$38.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 60 per week
