We provide guidance on financial restructuring and insolvency matters for companies facing adverse conditions, as well as bondholders, creditors\' committees, single creditor classes and secured creditors. Our direction and leadership are provided with a view to achieving lasting operational and performance improvement. KPMG also acts in a fiduciary capacity in formal insolvency proceedings including receiverships, proposals, CCAA and bankruptcy proceedings. Our service team also includes turnaround work and interim management roles.We are seeking a strong professional at the Senior Manager level to join our Vancouver team.Working in multi-disciplinary teams, you will apply your professional and technical skills on a wide variety of transactions and at different stages of the transaction process.
What you will do

• Manage a team in assessing and developing restructuring strategies and turnaround plans, including review of operations, key performance indicators, and financial forecasts of companies in a variety of industries
• Oversee client deliverables to ensure projects are completed on time and meet client needs, and contribute to practice management
• Conduct and supervise the development or review of complex financial models, cash flow forecasts, and other financial analyses in the context of independent business reviews and restructuring/refinancing of underperforming companies
• Lead informal turnaround engagements and formal insolvency filings, managing stakeholders and external advisors, preparing reports to the court as a court officer, securing assets, and supervising a team carrying out statutory duties under the Companies\xe2\x80\x99 Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA) and the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act (BIA)
• Develop analytical and negotiation skills to provide a strategic approach to engagements, identify common ground, and propose potential solutions
• Present results and analysis to a variety of senior stakeholders including clients, lenders, and other professional advisors
• Preparation, review, and distribution of reports.

What you bring to the role

• 5+ years of experience in restructuring and insolvency experience at a recognized professional firm
• Familiarity with the BIA, the CCAA and other relevant legislation
• Proven ability to lead multiple advisory engagements and formal proceedings simultaneously, pursuant to the CCAA and the BIA.
• Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional (CIRP) certification completed or in progress (preferred)
• Professional designation in Accounting. CPA designation would be a plus
• Ability to effectively mentor, coach, develop, and manage team members on detailed, functional financial models, including financial projections
• Ability to work as part of a high-performing team
• Excellent technical ability and a conscientious approach to assignments
• Good business judgment, strong problem-solving skills, and computer skills (particularly MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word)
• Proven understanding of financial modeling and analysis and significant experience in the same
• A willingness to take on key responsibilities in an adaptable, intensive work environment
• Demonstrated skill in managing conflicting asks and priorities
• Ability to guide client expectations over level and speed of service
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to explain strategic alternatives in a cohesive manner, and manage client expectations
• Willing and able to travel both within Canada and internationally as desired
• Relocation is considered for the right candidate

KPMG BC Region Pay Range InformationThe expected base salary range for this position is $111,000 to $199,500 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant\xe2\x80\x99s base salary within this range is based on the individual\xe2\x80\x99s location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications.
