About The Role
Reporting to Associate Vice President, Commercial Banking, the Senior Manager & Team Lead is responsible for the performance of the Saskatoon commercial team including credit and operational risk management. This permanent full-time opportunity is based out of our Saskatoon, SK branch, which is located on First Nations land.
Here's what you will be doing:
Actively promote the Banks image within the Indigenous and non-Indigenous community through participation and leadership in business groups and initiatives
Contribute to customer satisfaction
Guide and support the commercial banking team in meeting the annual business plan
Establish and meet annual sales objectives for items such as New Relationships, Productive Loan Volumes, Deposit Volumes, Loan Fees, etc.
Identify and develop relationships with external referral sources to generate demand for Bank products /services
Build the number of customers by direct marketing. This would include building an outside referral network, prospect calling, and pro-actively obtaining referrals from outside sources
Provide guidance and support to the Commercial team in structuring commercial deals
Balance the Bank's risk tolerances with pricing and the needs of customer
Monitor new business opportunities to ensure timely follow up and credit completion
Track new business and sales activity for the Commercial team
Manage and balance the Commercial team's resources to maximize productivity/control expenses
Manage Credit and Operational Risk ensuring credit applications are properly structured with a high level of risk assessment, due diligence, and credit presentation
Ensure the commercial portfolio is comprehensively monitored and controlled, adhering to and administered within approved guidelines, and in line with Bank operating policies and procedures
Approve credits within delegated limits and make recommendations on others as deemed necessary in conversation with Credit Risk Management
Ensure the Commercial Team is balancing their time between writing/monitoring credit with credit quality and customer service
Interpret and apply the Bank's risk management strategy, policies, and procedures
Follow and ensure employees understand and apply bank/branch operating policies and procedures
Follow and ensure employees are knowledgeable of and comply with Bank and industry codes of conduct and with securities laws and regulations (e.g. CDIC, FCAC, Privacy)

Excellent communication skills
Knowledge of Indigenous relationship building
Guide the commercial team in developing business solutions that add value to customers
Ability to develop and manage a team of high-quality resources by training and coaching team members
Qualifications:

Undergraduate or graduate degree in business with a focus in finance (BComm, MBA)
Five (5) years of experience related to business lending, financial analysis and administration
