The Position:



Reporting to the Vice President, Programs, Partnerships, and Impact, the Senior Manager Skills Development and Employment Services, is responsible for the development, implementation, management, supervision, and evaluation of the Skills Development (Thrive, and Pathways) and Employment Workshops and Services
(Internal employment workshops, job coaching/job development, Project Search) in accordance with the Abilities Centre's mission and vision.

As a team member working collaboratively with departmental colleagues and other Abilities Centre staff, they recognize the varying needs of individual, team members and respond by developing appropriate programs, plans, services, and activities and fostering related partnerships.

What You'll Do:



Program Development and Delivery

: You will develop and manage innovative Skills Development programs (Thrive(TM) Day Programs & Services, and Pathways), as well as Employment Services (Project Search, internal workshops, job coaching and job development) models related to enhancing skills for all participants with disabilities. You will develop and implement an effective outreach strategy to create and enhance relationships with community partners, funders, and employers. You will work with program staff to ensure appropriate client service delivery through implementation of individualized action plans, data collection and report writing. You will ensure Quality Assurance Measures (QAM) and compliance of program requirements as set out in the service contract for all programs.

Research and Collaboration:

You will coordinate with the Research department to identify the needs of communities and create programs that fill service delivery gaps. You will support Research and program staff to measure and collect data related to outcomes, goals, and impact using the Impact Assessment Framework. You will collaborate with Research and other department leads to create a framework for including individuals with lived experience into Abilities Centre decision making processes, programs and service delivery. You will establish and maintain effective communication with all Abilities Centre community partners, staff, and management teams. You will coordinate marketing, social media items, and events with the Marketing and Communications team.

Leadership:

You will participate and contribute to activities related to building and operationalizing the organizational strategic plan. You will work collaboratively within the Senior Management Team (SMT) and with department staff to develop and manage quarterly plans, including identifying outcome measures and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). You will support the Vice President, Programs, Partnerships, and Impact to identify and develop appropriate program policies and procedures as per government contractual obligations and health and safety protocols. You will coordinate with the Vice President, Programs, Partnerships, and Impactto identify needs and expand programs and services across Ontario. You will represent Abilities Centre in business community networks.

Supervision and Personnel Development:

You will coordinate the recruitment, training, and management of direct and indirect reports, including volunteers, and placement students in the delivery of programs and services. You will provide mentorship and coaching to the Skills Development and Employment teams in areas of intake and assessment, case management, and understanding the concepts, boundaries and ethics of counseling and documentation. You will provide day-to-day supervision, including planning, scheduling, and work distribution. You will conduct performance reviews, and support staff in identifying and pursuing professional development and training opportunities. You will coordinate, supervise, and lead the Disability Inclusion workshop facilitation team with the creation, training, and implementation of the DI Workshop. You will foster a work environment that values and encourages teamwork, inclusion, and accountability, and cultivate a person-centred environment through exceptional customer service. You will attend department specific and centre-wide staff meetings as required.

Administration and Financial Management

: You will manage, coordinate, and monitor all assigned programs and services, funding requirements, and commitments and targets. You will analyze and report program activities and make recommendations to senior management regarding strategies and activities that improve program efficiency and effectiveness. You will collaborate with other departments, including Revenue Development, to research and submit grants and funding proposals. You will provide input to the program budget development process as needed and manage services within budget guidelines. You will assist in the maintenance of current, confidential record keeping systems for client information. You will oversee the accuracy and timeliness of program staff and payroll records. You will ensure privacy of personal information pertaining to members and participants is protected, stored, and managed as per privacy guidelines and policies. You will work collaboratively with suppliers and service providers to ensure program components and resources are developed in a professional, timely and cost-effective manner.

What You'll Bring:



Education & Experience

: You have a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Disability Studies, Adult Education, Arts or related field. You have 3-5 years of demonstrated leadership and programming experience. You have 3-5 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities;

knowledge of accessibility and accommodation issues is required.

Technical Skills & Knowledge

: You understand systemic barriers to employment faced by individuals with disabilities, and accessible and inclusive workplace practices. You have superior administrative skills, demonstrating thoroughness and attention to detail. You have exceptional oral and written communication skills and are comfortable presenting to large groups. You can work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team. You are proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products. You are an effective team player with a positive attitude, whose interactions demonstrate accountability, authenticity, and collaboration. You are results-oriented, demonstrating great initiative. You can manage multiple demands and tight timelines through well-developed organizational and time management skills and can work independently without close supervision. You have exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills and can establish rapport with people of diverse backgrounds.

6 months.

You are

required

to have current

CPR, First AID and AED, and CPI certifications.

You have access to a vehicle.
