As part of the CLAO team, the Senior Manager, Regulatory Engagement will be responsible for the program management and project plans in regulatory engagement environment, supporting the execution and continuous improvement of ECCO risk and control program with co-ownership over the execution and continuous improvement of risk and control methodologies.
By leading regulatory remediation portfolios and strengthening ECCO's methodology frameworks the Senior Manager ensures comprehensive risk coverage robust regulatory compliance and enhanced risk transparency.. This ensures appropriate identification, assessment, and coverage of the action plans part of the remediation activities across the first line of defense and enhancing our risk management and regulatory compliance capabilities to ensure the bank is well-positioned for future opportunity and sustainable growth.
The Senior Manager will be the primary point of contact and coordination for the remediation activities while providing analytical and advisory insights to key stakeholders, and partner with first, second and third line of defense colleagues. As needed, the incumbent will lead and/or participate in regulatory engagements with other 1LOD partners.
What will you do?
Establish and maintain comprehensive regulatory project plans (plan, execute, and oversee regulatory remediation activities), reporting, issue tracking, and coordination of issue validation and closure packages. Develop regulatory remediation status reports and support the Director, Regulatory Engagement, Practice Management in ECCO.
Provide a monthly reporting on all Risk and Regulatory initiatives ensuring full transparency on all delivery risk, issue and delivery progression on 1LOD remediation activities.
Oversee the timeliness and accuracy of responses to regulators, including data requests and responses to exam findings (such as Matters Requiring Attention, etc.).
Lead management action plans and provide strategic oversight into remediation approach and execution for 1LOD Business Units.
Co-lead discussions on 1LOD's regulatory issues, including the development of thematic observations, conclusions and recommendations related to regulatory issues.
Responsible for creation of the 1LOD centralized guidelines and coordination of the training programs.
Provide program and project management capabilities to support ECCO leadership in delivering on key initiatives, with particular focus on regulatory remediation and resolution of key issues.
Conduct deep dives and thematic reviews of Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs) and Risk and Control Registers to identify emerging risks control gaps and improvement opportunities
Work in a consultative manner with operational and other functional specialists to implement relevant laws, regulations and guidance into bank processes and procedures
Responsible for fostering a culture of compliance with existing and pending regulations
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Experience in risk management, with a focus on regulatory remediation and non-financial risk categories
Bachelor's degree in finance, Business or other related field
Knowledge in developing and executing regulatory governance frameworks in a large, complex organization
Establish comprehensive status reporting, issue tracking, and coordination of issue validation and closure packages
Strong understanding of internal and external regulatory requirements and standards
Analytical skills, with experience in conducting complex risk analyses and thematic reviews
Proven ability to influence and advise stakeholders and cross-platform teams
Experience supporting regulatory and audit engagements
Nice-to-have
CPA, CIA, FRM, CFA or other related designations
