What is the opportunity?

You will provide risk oversight for large Club/Syndicate and Bilateral complex real estate transactions over $7.5MM. You will provide prompt attention to client draw requests and interact with RBC partners and external groups. You will manage an assigned portfolio in accordance with policies and procedures and mitigate risk for RBC\xe2\x80\x99s real estate and construction financing projects.

Please Note: This position is a hybrid work environment opportunity.

What will you do?

  • Apply sound judgement to approve transactions that fall outside of guidelines, while protecting against risk and procedural gaps.
  • Identify potential risks and work with Commercial Account Managers (CAM), Group Risk Management (GRM) and National Office teams to resolve them.
  • Apply oversight and procedures to ensure compliance to terms and conditions of the loan and other agreements between the Bank and the client
  • Review and verify approved Pre-Disbursement Conditions, AML and authorized signatories, to authorize draw advances within approved authorities for new construction projects.
  • Use bank policies/guidelines and judgement to manage assigned projects/clients within the bank\xe2\x80\x99s real estate construction portfolio.
  • Assess and articulate construction risks of assigned projects/clients and refer deteriorating/high risk situations to the Director/Sr. Director, Real Estate Middle Office.
  • Maintain a tracking and reporting system to reflect the most recent information of assigned projects/clients.
  • Work closely with Commercial Banking Centers, Group Risk Management, Commercial Advisory Group, Law Group and the Business Service Centre/BLOG. Liaise with clients, lawyers, and Project Monitors, to assist with advancement of draws or the initial legal structure of a deal.
What do you need to succeed?

Must-have
  • Previous commercial lending experience
  • Strong knowledge of commercial credit rules and guidelines
  • Ability to prioritize and manage competing demands from various groups with which the real estate middle office interacts
  • Ability to balance putting \xe2\x80\x9cClient First\xe2\x80\x9d and ensuring that standards are maintained and deliverables are provided
  • Professional oral and written communication skills
  • Sound judgement and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work effectively in an interactive team environment
  • Applicants from Montreal must be bilingual in French and English - required to communicate with teams located across Canada
Nice-to-have
  • Commercial Account Management or Commercial Credit adjudication experience.
  • GRM experience.

En quoi consiste l\xe2\x80\x99emploi ?

Vous assurerez la surveillance des risques li\xc3\xa9s aux op\xc3\xa9rations immobili\xc3\xa8res complexes de plus de 7,5 M $ effectu\xc3\xa9es par syndication restreinte ou syndication ou par montage bilat\xc3\xa9ral. Vous r\xc3\xa9pondrez ponctuellement aux demandes de tirage des clients et interagirez avec des partenaires de RBC et partenaires externes. Vous g\xc3\xa9rerez le portefeuille attribu\xc3\xa9 conform\xc3\xa9ment aux politiques et aux proc\xc3\xa9dures, et veillerez \xc3\xa0 att\xc3\xa9nuer les risques li\xc3\xa9s au financement de projets immobiliers et de construction.

Quelles seront vos t\xc3\xa2ches ?
  • Faire preuve de discernement pour autoriser les op\xc3\xa9rations qui d\xc3\xa9rogent aux directives, prot\xc3\xa9ger la banque des risques et signaler les lacunes proc\xc3\xa9durales
  • Rep\xc3\xa9rer les risques et collaborer avec les directeurs de comptes commerciaux, la Gestion des risques (GDR) et le Bureau national pour les adresser
  • Exercer une surveillance et suivre les proc\xc3\xa9dures afin d\xe2\x80\x99assurer la conformit\xc3\xa9 aux modalit\xc3\xa9s des pr\xc3\xaats et des autres ententes conclues avec les clients
  • Veiller au respect des exigences li\xc3\xa9es aux conditions de d\xc3\xa9caissement, LAB etsignataires autoris\xc3\xa9s \xe2\x80\x93 avant d\xe2\x80\x99autoriser les avances progressives dans les limites conscrites des pouvoirs d\xe2\x80\x99approbation relatifs aux projets de construction
  • Suivre les politiques et directives en faisant preuve de jugement quant \xc3\xa0 la gestion des projets, et des clients assign\xc3\xa9s u portefeuille de construction immobili\xc3\xa8re de la Banque
  • \xc3\x89valuer et d\xc3\xa9finir les risques li\xc3\xa9s aux projets de construction et aux clients assign\xc3\xa9s, et signaler les situations en cours de d\xc3\xa9t\xc3\xa9rioration ou \xc3\xa0 haut risque au directeur de comptes ou au directeur principal senior, Bureau administratif, Services immobiliers
