In this role, you will be accountable for objectively managing pharmacy-related incidents within pharmacy operations across Shoppers Drug Mart, Loblaw, and Pharmaprix. Using a structured methodology, you will identify root causes, recommend and implement appropriate countermeasures, and collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure successful resolution. The Senior Manager will also play a critical role in developing and driving continuous quality improvement initiatives across the pharmacy network.

Investigation and Resolution



Demonstrates the ability to identify and apply the most appropriate tools and resources based on the nature of the situation or incident. Provides clear, professional, and empathetic responses to customers and stakeholders, using accessible, non-technical language. Builds rapport and trust with stakeholders through phone and in-person interactions, showing empathy, patience, compassion, and maintaining confidentiality at all times. Effectively manages multiple open incidents by prioritizing tasks, ensuring timely follow-up, and driving issues toward resolution. Participates in the incident management and drug recall processes, remaining available on call as required, from initiation through to completion. Supports enterprise pharmacy operations by contributing to specific programs, compliance initiatives, and the implementation of operational procedures.

Analytics and Improvement



Leverages database systems to build reports, retrieve information, and organize data for meaningful analysis. Analyzes large datasets to identify trends, root causes, and key insights. Utilizes advanced Excel functions and/or statistical software to support data-driven decision making. Translates complex analysis into clear, concise, and actionable presentations for stakeholders. Supports the identification and execution of improvement initiatives across the business. Communicates effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Clinical Support



Provides clinical expertise to support the successful implementation of pharmacy programs. Prioritizes patient safety and best practices while contributing to the development of long-term enterprise-wide standards.

What You'll Need




This role requires a high level of initiative, analytical thinking, and sound judgment to effectively organize, prioritize, and follow through on tasks and workload.

Proficiency in both English and French is considered an asset. Licensed Pharmacist in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP), Ordre des pharmaciens du Quebec (OPQ), or another Canadian Pharmacy regulatory body. Minimum 5 years of experience as a Pharmacist. Authentic and collaborative team player with strong clinical communication skills, able to engage empathetically, confidentially, and professionally with diverse stakeholders, including customers, using language that is accessible and clear. Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams with direct reporting relationships, aligning with Blue Culture principles. Knowledge of the health benefits industry, including drug plan management, is considered an asset. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate insights into action. Professional presence with excellent planning, organizational, and prioritization abilities. Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while meeting challenging deadlines. Effective communicator, capable of influencing and presenting ideas to stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Quick learner with the ability to assimilate new concepts rapidly and a demonstrated openness to continuous learning. Able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Experience managing pharmacy or medication incidents, or relevant related experience, is an asset.

Capacite a identifier et appliquer les outils et ressources les plus appropries en fonction de la nature de la situation ou de l'incident. Fournir des reponses claires, professionnelles et empreintes d'empathie aux clients et aux parties prenantes, en utilisant un langage simple et accessible. Etablir un climat de confiance avec les parties prenantes lors d'interactions telephoniques ou en personne, en faisant preuve d'empathie, de patience, de compassion et en respectant la confidentialite. Gerer efficacement plusieurs incidents en cours en priorisant les taches, en assurant un suivi rapide et en menant les dossiers a leur resolution. Participer aux processus de gestion des incidents et de rappels de medicaments, demeurant disponible sur appel, du debut a la fin. Exploiter divers systemes de bases de donnees pour creer des rapports, extraire et organiser des donnees en vue d'analyses pertinentes. Analyser de grands ensembles de donnees afin d'identifier des tendances, des causes profondes et des observations cles. Utiliser des fonctions avancees d'Excel et/ou des logiciels statistiques pour soutenir la prise de decisions basee sur les donnees. Traduire des analyses complexes en presentations claires, concises et exploitables pour les parties prenantes. Appuyer l'identification et l'execution d'initiatives d'amelioration a l'echelle de l'entreprise. Communiquer efficacement avec les parties prenantes a tous les niveaux de l'organisation.

Ce role exige un haut degre d'initiative, de reflexion analytique et de jugement afin d'organiser, de prioriser et d'assurer le suivi des taches et de la charge de travail.

La maitrise de l'anglais et du francais est consideree comme un atout. Pharmacien(ne) autorise(e), en regle au pres de l'Ordre des pharmaciens de l'Ontario (OCP), de l'Ordre des pharmaciens du Quebec (OPQ), ou d'un autre organisme de reglementation canadien. Minimum de 5 ans d'experience comme pharmacien(ne). Esprit d'equipe authentique et collaboratif avec de solides competences en communication clinique, capable de dialoguer de maniere empathique, confidentielle et professionnelle avec divers intervenants, y compris les clients, en utilisant un langage clair et accessible. Experience demontree en gestion d'equipes avec subordination directe, en adequation avec les principes de la Culture Bleue. Connaissance de l'industrie des avantages sociaux en sante, incluant la gestion des regimes de medicaments, un atout. Excellentes competences analytiques et en resolution de problemes, avec la capacite de transformer les observations en actions concretes. Presence professionnelle avec de fortes aptitudes en planification, organisation et gestion des priorites. Capacite a livrer des resultats dans un environnement dynamique et sous pression, tout en respectant des delais serres. Communicateur(trice) efficace, capable d'influencer et de presenter des idees aux parties prenantes a tous les niveaux. Apprenant(e) rapide, capable d'assimiler de nouveaux concepts et demontrant une volonte continue d'apprentissage. Autonomie et aptitude au travail collaboratif en equipe. Maitrise de Microsoft Office. Experience en gestion d'incidents pharmaceutiques ou de medication, ou experience connexe pertinente, un atout.
