Reporting to the Sr. Director of Development, the Sr. Manager of Application Development will lead multiple teams of 5-6 full-stack developers, working closely with your team, product managers, UX designers, and other technology teams to roll out new POS to our stores

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for coaching and developing teams of effective and driven developers with high expectations regarding individual ownership and contribution to the mission
• Deliver POS system, lead development, rollout and cutover
• Lead global growth strategy for store expansion
• Support a psychologically safe, collaborative working environment that embodies the SSENSE core values
• Be accountable for the teams' delivery of the roadmap and service level agreement across the product portfolio
• Improve accuracy of work estimations and reduce cost of rework, while balancing a safe-to-fail mindset of experimentation
• Work with Senior Leadership to identify and implement new initiatives to support the development activities (e.g., Cloud, DevOps, Performance Engineering, Architecture, etc.)
• Facilitate day-to-day operational activities of the teams, including Agile ceremonies, on-call planning, and delivery management responsibilities

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent technical experience
• Deep Domain experience in Retail and/or Supply chain management
• Experience in retail domain , POS system or Supply Chain
• A minimum of 5 years experience managing teams to deliver applications, including relevant experience with Agile
• Experience as a software developer
• Knowledge of a broad range of modern programming languages including Node.js, ReactJS/React Native, and GraphQL; experience with front-end design patterns and tooling an asset (e.g., atomic design, Storybook/Chromatic, etc.)
• Familiarity with modern development tools and cloud infrastructure (e.g., CI/CD, QA automation, telemetry SaaS products; AWS, GCP or other PaaS managed services)

• Ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
• Strong leadership, delivery management, and critical thinking skills
