JOB PURPOSE




The Senior Manager: Major Gifts and Campaign is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the major and mid-level gift, corporate, legacy giving and capital campaign team, building out the OHS' associated programs and managing capital campaigns.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



Develop, implement, manage, monitor, and evaluate OHS programs for major and mid-level gifts, corporate, foundation and legacy giving Determine short- and long-term tactics and strategies to achieve program and campaign strategic goals Lead all aspects of OHS capital campaigns Lead engagement with campaign cabinets, board members and other volunteer fundraisers to identify, cultivate, and solicit major gift donors Develop and implement customized philanthropic and giving plans for individual major donors, corporations and foundations Develop and maintain relationships with OHS donors and prospective donors, including conducting in-depth prospect research and qualification Ensure best practices and consistency to compose, review and edit major gift program and campaign communications materials Meet or exceed annual fundraising targets, leading the department team to achieve annual performance metrics and financial targets, including own portfolio of individuals, corporations and foundations Work closely with the OHS's leadership to understand and communicate strategic priorities Prepare and deliver written and verbal presentations including media appearances Ensure accuracy of all active donor files, including all related donor record administration, briefing notes, and contact reports Develop, manage, and ensure adherence to department program budgets Provide advice and assistance to other managers, directors, CEO, and OHS Board and committees as required Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of best practices and trends in fundraising and donor stewardship Manage and coordinate department resources Produce and maintain accurate reports, records, and files Lead and manage department staff including orientation, training, performance management, and daily supervision Participate in supervision, evaluation, training, and other meetings as required Hire, fire and discipline staff in consultation with Human Resources and Chief Development Officer Manage and coordinate department resources Be thoroughly familiar with and ensure adherence to pertinent legislation, regulations, contracts, guidelines, OHS mission, policies, procedures, plans and collective agreement Be familiar with and ensure compliance with all health and safety policies and procedures Develop, implement, evaluate, and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures within assigned functional areas Participate in the identification and evaluation of OHS program goals and objectives Participate in professional development opportunities Participate in public relations and promotional activities as required May be required to assume some of the responsibilities of the Chief Development Officer

QUALIFICATIONS



Post-secondary school degree, diploma or certificate in a related field - fundraising preferred A minimum of 5 years' management experience A minimum of 5 years' fundraising experience developing customized donor relationship strategies to secure multi-year gifts and pledges, supporting best practices with data and reporting MPNL or CFRE is an asset Experience working with board and/or cabinet volunteers in fundraising efforts preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Experience with CRM database, Raiser's Edge NXT preferred Full professional proficiency in spoken and written English is required

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS



Employee may be required to work occasional evenings, holidays and weekends Employment is conditional upon having and maintaining a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle Employment is conditional upon the ability to work around all species of animals safely

Schedule:



Full-time (37.5 hours per week)

Monday - Friday: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
