The opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Manager, IT to join our Engineering Solutions team to oversee technical projects that evolve and refresh our infrastructure all across Canada. Our network infrastructure is always in transformation to keep up with new technology and new business needs. This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in how internal teams connect and share information from coast-to-coast-to-coast. It\xe2\x80\x99s a chance to step into the Senior Management leadership team, stay up-to-date with the latest tools while expanding into a customer-facing, people-managing hybrid.

You are a project manager with a passion for mentoring people. You are seeking an opportunity where you can bridge your technical infrastructure expertise with managing a team. • Design and manage the deployment of technological solutions.
• Face challenges around planning and prioritizing projects while managing the team, the finances and the work at a high level.
• Innovate cost effective solutions that arise.
• Work in close partnership with the Director and build strong relationships within and across groups.
• Contribute to and execute on the department strategy and communications.
• Oversee the team\xe2\x80\x99s performance management on a day-to-day and long-term basis, helping individuals to grow, develop and reach their career goals.

What you bring:

• The education. You have a post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Applied Science and Technology or Engineering. Preference is given for membership eligibility in the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario, the Ordre des ing\xc3\xa9nieurs du Quebec, the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists, or equivalent.
• The language. Bilingualism in French and English is highly beneficial.
• The expertise. You have 10 years progressive experience in technology project management with a focus on Telecommunication infrastructure and at least 2 years leading people. You have experience implementing best practices. Direct experience as part of a media company is an asset. You have exposure to a range of tools which may include:

• Virtualization technologies (VMWare, Windows, Oracle, etc.).
• Storage protocols (FC, FcoE, iSCSI, CIFS, NFS, etc.).
• Hyperconverged solutions and platforms.
• Storage solutions and platforms.
• Fiber optics technologies.
• Cloud computing.
• IT and network security.
• The knowledge. You are a strategic thinker and highly aware of the importance of scalability. You have the patience to consider all options before jumping into a decision. You are motivated by building robust, reliable processes and solutions that are replicable.
• The leadership skills. You are highly collaborative and you thrive in a team-focused environment. You can provide guidance and direction for teams and take a hands-on role wherever needed. You have experience growing people and overseeing projects. You can guide teams and advise leadership. You can balance multiple projects simultaneously and execute decisions independently.
• The relationship building finesse. You can nurture strong two-way relationships with peers, partners, clients, staff, senior managers and external technological vendors. You have outstanding communication skills. You are comfortable presenting ideas and reports to senior stakeholders. You know how to listen and you understand perspectives.
• The flexibility. You are able and willing to work outside of regular working hours given the continuous operation of the department and area. You can travel between Montreal and Toronto when required.
