You will play a critical role in helping Lifelabs deliver on our overall business goals, champion enthusiastic new ways technology can advance the employee experience and will drive initiatives to optimize systems and platforms to eliminate manual work, drive efficiency, improve processes and ensure HR technology facilitates consistent and reliable service delivery for internal customers.Accountabilities:Leadership & Transformation:

  • Under the guidance of the HR leadership team, lead the development and advancement of the HR Technology strategic roadmap ensuring an improved employee experience, streamlined HR processes and enhanced productivity.
  • With a focus on continuous improvement, spearhead HR technology modernization and digital transformation projects to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Provide ongoing strategic and tactical evaluation of HR systems and delivery of services to ensure alignment with LifeLabs\' long-term strategy, business requirements, competitive landscape and regulatory environment.
  • Support the development of business cases and associated documentation to secure Capex funds and the approval for HR Technology initiatives by the executive leadership team and project advisory committee. Identify project/program return on investment and mechanisms to measure impact.
  • Influence and support the HR transformation through the HR technology roadmaps and programs.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data, research trends, and provide data-driven recommendations for technology program enhancement and cost savings initiatives
HR System Management:
  • Oversee the rollout of new technologies, system administration and governance of HR systems ensuring alignment with IT governance, architecture and infrastructure.
  • Collaborates with IT and other Corporate functions to develop an HR IT architecture that supports and aligns to the HR and Corporate business architecture and direction.
  • Oversight for HR technology projects, including system upgrades implementations, integrations, and enhancements. Engage stakeholders, manage project timelines, coordinate cross-functional teams, ensure successful project delivery, and provide post-implementation support and user training.
  • Consult with stakeholders to understand the structure, policies, operations, and requirements. Align business requirements with technology capabilities recommending innovative solutions to complex problems ensuring our business goals are met.
  • Collaborate with the Centers of Excellence to maintain data integrity of HR systems through pro-active means (audits, queries, etc.) and ensure data infrastructure supports future growth and integration of data for analytical insights
  • Stay connected to the marketplace for opportunities to remain competitive with system enhancements, upgrades or new vendors and improve overall effectiveness
  • Ensure HR systems and processes comply with legal and regulatory requirements, industry standards, and organizational policies.
  • Ensure integration and interoperability between HR systems and other organizational systems
  • Ensure alignment with CISO governance structure and policies to mitigate risks associated with data security and privacy.
Relationship & Change Management:
  • Build excellent relationships across all businesses, specifically partnering with HR, and IT to develop and manage People systems technology investment and implementation.
  • Proactively build excellent relationships across multiple business units to champion our HR technology goals across the organization. As the HR Technology SME, you will partner and communicate complex/technical information across HR and other business unit functions (e.g., IT, Finance) to influence, develop, manage our technology investments and implementation.
  • Partner with IT to ensure alignment of our strategic business unit goals, ensuring both functional areas can achieve success.
  • Partner with the broader HR team to develop communications strategies and training material to create alignment, understanding and adoption of our systems.
  • Manage relationships with HR technology vendors, negotiate multi-year contracts, ensure service levels are met and all technology renewals and licensing are executed within required timelines.
  • Cultivate relationships across functions, especially with HR and IT, and with strategic vendors outside.
  • Lead change management initiatives related to HR technology implementations, ensuring smooth adoption and usage by employees and stakeholders.
Develop and coach the team:
  • Lead the HR Technology team towards excellence, fostering a positive, innovative, and high-engagement environment. Drive employee development, manage staffing needs, and ensure regular one-on-one coaching sessions with team members.
  • Ensure the development of training and support for end users to effectively utilize and maximize the potential of HR systems.
Education, Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Information Technology Management, Computer Science or Business Program, or a degree in a Human Resources program combined with subsequent formal technical and systems training or experience with ERP products, preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in HR technology, including the implementation of HR Information Systems. Experience related to Ceridian Dayforce, Kronos, SAP an asset.
  • Knowledgeable and comfortable with Cloud and Saas based solutions.
  • Knowledge of Human Resources best practices and standards. Understanding HR processes including records administration, statutory reporting and regulations
  • Knowledge of employee relations matters
  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative, positive relationships with all stakeholders in a matrix structure
  • Demonstrate ability to innovate and be creative while being aware of cost containment requirements.
  • Change agent, willing to challenge the status quo through influence
  • Problem solving skills with ability to apply sound judgment and innovative solutions to challenging issues
