The successful candidate will lead the TELUS Health Revenue Assurance team, working closely with finance business partners to ensure the accuracy and integrity of revenue streams, and implementing robust controls and processes to streamline revenue recognition and reconciliations. This role requires a deep understanding of IFRS 15, Revenue from Contracts with Customers, financial systems, data analysis, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of six finance professionals. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture, driven by continuous professional development and training.
  • Implement streamlined revenue processes to increase month-end efficiency and accuracy, with a focus on continuous improvement. Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled in the ERP systems
  • Provide revenue recognition guidance and recommendations to business partners in accordance with IFRS 15
  • Assist in development of revenue recognition policies and procedures. Work closely with billing and collections teams to provide training and support with system set up and implementation of process improvements
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial disclosures to TELUS Corporate in accordance with IFRS
  • Assist Director, Finance with ad hoc inquiries from Leadership Team or other management personnel regarding financial results, special reporting requests, etc.
  • Review technical accounting memos for key accounting matters and decisions.
  • Support cross-functional strategic initiatives and projects by providing financial insights and recommendations to support decision making.
  • Partner with senior management to drive financial performance and growth.
  • Collaborate with department heads to develop and manage budgets
  • Provide guidance for partners within the business on appropriate accounting treatment
  • Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards and SOX controls. Liaise with internal and external auditors to facilitate audit processes and walkthroughs
Requirements
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred.
  • 7-10 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management, with at least 3 years in a senior or management role.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS 15, Revenue from Contracts with Customers, with experience in technical accounting research and documentation of company\xe2\x80\x99s position on complex accounting matters
  • Experience with SAP or Workday ERP is considered a strong asset.
  • Excellent attention to detail, financial acumen and project management skills
  • Strong written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Sets high standard for team and ensures high quality outcomes are achieved.
  • English proficiency, verbal and written.
  • Strong Excel, Word, and other MS office application skills
