Leads and oversees a technology application and team, ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. Provide overall leadership and technical guidance that enables creative delivery of Canadian Banking Products Engineering solutions. Responsible for the overall Canadian Banking Products Engineering solution end-to-end ensuring that designs are modern, resilient and cost-effective Responsible for ensuring that software is delivered on time, resilient, on budget and in a way that meets the business expectations. Owns manage and maintain thorough understanding of the Canadian Banking Products Engineering system capabilities, gaps and opportunities. Provide analytic support in the development and implementation of strategic plans. Assist in the review and evaluation of business initiatives, product and projects and formulate insightful guidance and input to business leaders. Manage a global development team in delivery of your annual objectives and support your business partners in their various timelines. Own, maintain, support and enhance existing applications, including regular code reviews for release activities, production issue analysis and root cause analysis for production outages and implementation issues. Assist product owners and business analysts in discovering the current system behavior and provide recommendations on improving the current system. Participate in Architecture Review and manage budget Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. Builds a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline. You have 4-6 years of work-related experience within the Financial Services Industry. You have experience in consumer banking products and Business process management products You have 2+ years experience in delivery of large scale programs and global products Specialized knowledge of PEGA systems (BPN) would be an asset. Strong and proven analytical skills Strong working knowledge business solutioning, documentation and process mapping Strong technical solution management experience and skills Ability to work autonomously under tight timelines Ability to work in a dynamic environment where processes and procedures are consistently refined Strong capability to work with senior business leaders Strong verbal, written and communication skills Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Strong people management skills and experience
