About the team you are joining



IATA's Business Intelligence Services (BIS) serve as the focal point and driving force for aviation data management and BI services in the aviation industry. One of the four verticals within the IATA BIS department is Aircraft, Environment and Operations Data.



The team manages a portfolio of aviation BI solutions and data sharing programs leveraging IATA's unique access to airline data such as Turbulence Aware, CO2 CONNECT, MRO SmartHub, FuelIS, and ScheduleIS. The team is comprised of aviation industry experts, data management and analytic professionals based in Montreal and Geneva.



The Senior Manager, Data Management and Technology position will report to the Head, Aircraft, Environment and Operations Data. This position is accountable for all operational and technical activities related to this portfolio. It also shares the overall team objectives both on commercial target and new product development target.



What your day would be like


Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability through robust data quality management practices. Conduct data analysis to generate insights, support decision-making, and identify opportunities for improvement. Collaborate with stakeholders to define and translate business requirements into clear technical specifications. Manage and prioritize the product backlog in alignment with business goals and input from product managers. Oversee the development and enhancement of technical platforms, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and user needs. Monitor system performance and proactively address data-related issues to maintain optimal platform functionality. Manage day-to-day technical operations, ensuring platform stability, scalability, and high performance. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance data quality, system efficiency, and operational effectiveness. Maintain strong relationships with technical vendors, ensuring service quality, compliance, and alignment with internal requirements. Support pre-sales activities by leading technical product demonstrations and addressing client inquiries. Ensure comprehensive and up-to-date technical documentation is maintained and accessible to relevant stakeholders. Provide level 3 technical support and conduct root cause analysis for complex issues



We would love to hear from you if you have


7+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Technical Product Manager, delivering data management and analytics solutions in agile environments. Proven ability to lead technical platform development and operations, ensuring system stability, scalability, and alignment with business goals. Deep expertise in data lifecycle management and data analytics, with the ability to extract insights to support decision-making. Strong communication skills with a track record of translating business needs into technical requirements and managing cross-functional, cross-cultural teams. Experience supporting pre-sales activities, including technical demos and stakeholder engagement, with the ability to simplify complex technical topics. Demonstrated success in vendor management and technical documentation, with a focus on performance monitoring and continuous improvement. Proficiency in Power BI and SQL; experience with Python or R is a plus.
