Join us!Job SummaryThe Senior Manager, Corporate Finance is responsible for the development and implementation of strategies covering all aspects of the Treasury front office activities. The incumbent interacts with a number of internal and external stakeholders holding senior level positions.Main ResponsibilitiesMonitor Liquidity for Diversified Sources of Funding\xc2\xb7 Develop and present liquidity and funding plans for the Chief Financial Officer (CFO)\xc2\xb7 Support the development, communication, and execution of the long-term financial strategy\xc2\xb7 Recommend and implement cost-effective debt strategy to meet the Company\'s capital and liquidity requirements\xc2\xb7 Monitor debt capital markets and lead the bond issuance activities\xc2\xb7 Structure, negotiate and handle CN\'s revolving credit facilities, term loans, bilateral letter of credit facilities as well as other specialized arrangements, such as addressing any required changes\xc2\xb7 Handle the commercial paper program and various dealer agreements\xc2\xb7 Handle the accounts receivables securitization facility\xc2\xb7 Oversee the Company\'s portfolio of letters of credit and handle the issuance and amendment requests with the various banks\xc2\xb7 Conduct financial analysis and modelling to support treasury decisions, including evaluating financial opportunities, debt financing options, and capital structure optimization\xc2\xb7 Call and refinance outstanding bonds\xc2\xb7 Act as a backup for the money market, short-term investment, spot foreign exchange (FX) transactions, FX swaps, and commercial paper issuances\xc2\xb7 Keep abreast of economic market conditions and developments that may impact the Company and share related insight to support ongoing decision making, financial planning, and risk assessmentFinancial Risk Management\xc2\xb7 Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate financial risks such as foreign exchange, interest rate, and credit risks\xc2\xb7 Assess and handle counterparty risk associated with banking relationships and financial instruments\xc2\xb7 Negotiate International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) contractsPrepare Presentation and Support Ad Hoc Projects\xc2\xb7 Develop presentations to advance various recommendations to the Audit, Finance and Risk Committee of the Board of Directors or to Senior Management\xc2\xb7 Develop presentations to rating agencies, to fixed income investors, and others as needed\xc2\xb7 Provide financial expertise on a wide array of significant projects (e.g., major mergers and acquisitions, real estate, captive insurance, stock-based compensation, pension, taxation)\xc2\xb7 Partner with Tax to implement, document, and monitor the pricing applicable to intercompany loans\xc2\xb7 Review CN\'s customer credit risk profiles and propose risk mitigation measures\xc2\xb7 Analyze payment terms to support Supply Management in optimizing payment discount arrangements on prepayments\xc2\xb7 Prepare credit metrics based on rating agencies\' different methodologies and keep abreast with their changes\xc2\xb7 Monitor peers\' earnings and update benchmarking analysis\xc2\xb7 Support financial reporting activities and ensure the Company\'s external reporting is accurate\xc2\xb7 Support Pension and Leasing activities, with third parties or intercompanyLead Shareholder Distribution Activities\xc2\xb7 Resolve the optimal capital structure and the corresponding dividend policy and share repurchase programs\xc2\xb7 Set up and execute share repurchase programs coordinating CN\'s dealers and sellers through private agreements\xc2\xb7 Ensure timely submission of application to regulators and receipt of approval from regulators\xc2\xb7 Ensure perfect execution of the program while minimizing the cost versus the average daily volume weighted average price (VWAP)\xc2\xb7 Prepare reports on a timely basisManage Relationships\xc2\xb7 Establish and maintain relationships with financial institutions that are currently part of CN\'s credit facilities\xc2\xb7 Handle the relationship with the rating agencies, review their periodic reports, and keep them up to date on CN\'s financial initiatives\xc2\xb7 Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Financial Reporting, Accounting, and Legal, operations to support treasury initiatives and business objectivesWorking ConditionsThe role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday, with overtime when required.
