Are you a visionary cloud leader ready to shape the future of digital infrastructure at one of Canada's most impactful health charities? Heart & Stroke is seeking a Senior Manager, Cloud Infrastructure & AI Operations to lead the strategy, engineering, and optimization of our Azure-based cloud environment and emerging AIOps capabilities.


You will shape the foundation of our digital infrastructure--building scalable, secure, and resilient systems that power fundraising, engagement, and data-driven insights.


This role blends strategic architecture with hands-on engineering leadership. You'll guide a high-performing team responsible for cloud infrastructure, operations, and enterprise applications, while introducing modern automation, observability, and AI-enabled operations.


We welcome applications from anywhere within Canada, however the selected candidate would need to be able to travel to the Toronto office a few times a year.

How you will make an impact every day




Technical Leadership

Build team capability in Azure architecture, automation, observability, and reliability engineering supporting both digital (web/mobile) and data analytics solutions. Establish repeatable, cost-efficient infrastructure design and deployment practices. Lead documentation of infrastructure and support playbooks to drive scalability and speed. Coach and modernize team skills to meet digital product delivery goals. Resolve complex infrastructure issues in partnership with IT Solutions and vendors. Evaluate and implement emerging cloud and AIOps technologies.

Cloud Infrastructure Architecture & Operations Oversight

Define and execute a roadmap to mature Azure architecture, standardization, and resiliency. Oversee cloud performance, scalability, cost optimization, and compliance (for e.g. PCI, PHIPA). Provide technical direction for major incidents and post-incident reviews. Govern infrastructure engagement and architecture standards across the organization.

Enterprise Application Management

Lead management of packaged applications (e.g., M365), ensuring uptime, upgrades, and compliance.

Automation & AI Operations

Drive adoption of Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD, and automated provisioning.

Implement AIOps for predictive monitoring, anomaly detection, and incident correlation.

Partner with data teams to deploy transparent, ethical AI tools for automation and insight.

Cross-Functional Alignment & Governance

Collaborate with leaders in Data, Cybersecurity, and Digital Product to align infrastructure with business strategy. Represent Cloud Infrastructure in enterprise planning and governance forums.

Talent & Financial Management

Lead, coach, and develop a distributed technical team, fostering growth, collaboration and accountability. Build strong cross-functional relationships. Proactively manage cloud consumption budgets and forecast optimization opportunities.

Who we need




Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience. Leadership/management training preferred. Azure certifications (AZ-305, AZ-400) desirable however your experience will make the difference!

Experience

10+ years in infrastructure and operations roles, including 5+ years of leadership. Deep experience designing, implementing, and managing secure Azure based solutions that support digital and data analytics solutions. Strong background in automation, observability, and compliance-driven operations. Exposure to AI/ML and readiness to lead AIOps integration. Proven people leadership in remote and hybrid settings. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
