Overview

The Special Care Services Department is a centralized unit responsible for the case management of all new and most existing claims for severely injured workers. Our team members ensure that quality care support and decision making is provided in a consistent, timely, and cost effective manner throughout the province.

We have an opportunity for two Senior Client Services Managers in Special Care Services (SCS), reporting to the Director, Special Care Services. The Senior Client Services Manager plays a key leadership role in ensuring departmental, divisional and enterprise level projects and initiatives are aligned with our strategic priorities and contribute to improving service delivery outcomes for our stakeholders. Your dynamic, thoughtful and strategic thinking skills which reinforce your ability to see the big picture will be necessary attributes in this role.

This is a hybrid role that will primarily work from home and require occasional attendance at our Richmond office and occasional travel throughout the province for stakeholder engagements.

What you'll do

As a Senior Client Services Manager, you will:

  • Provide guidance, coaching, oversight and direction to Client Services Managers and other staff, as well as expert technical advice in the area complex decision making, disability management and/or health care delivery.
  • Lead teams in formulating operational plans, determining objectives, and implementing business initiatives and projects in line with the divisional business plan.
  • Contribute in a leading role to the effective communication and management of change within the department, division, and across the enterprise, ensuring that a corporate, community and human focus is placed on service delivery.
  • Be involved in policy review, development and recommendation, as well as significant contact with internal and external stakeholders on matters pertaining to mental health, serious injuries, workplace deaths and occupational disease exposures.
  • Provides input and recommendations to the Director of SCS to meet the Corporate and Divisional People & Culture strategy and to align the management of staff performance with Divisional and key customer service objectives.
  • Be an ambassador on behalf of our organization to the community with respect to the services provided by and SCS.

Your experience and educational background:
  • A minimum of a post-secondary degree in a related discipline (disability management, health care, social services, business administration, etc.)
  • A minimum of six years of directly related management experience
  • Ability to communicate with confidence and engage collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to develop and implement innovative disability management and health care recover programs, services and service delivery provisions
  • Ability to make formal presentations and share information in a dynamic, informed and respectful manner

You will be required to successfully meet the legal requirements under the Criminal Records Review Act to work with children and/or vulnerable adults.
