WHAT YOU'LL BRING

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in business, communications, marketing, engineering or a related field.

Eight years of progressive experience leading or driving a strategic initiative or program, where you managed and coordinated events in an interactive or collaborative environment with a variety of audiences and stakeholders.

Experience in all facets of project management and planning; managing overarching schedules and implementation of multiple simultaneous projects and programs.

A passion for building industry and business interest, meaningful partnerships, participation, or sponsorships.

A creative mind; skills, and experience in building interactive and engaging communications. Experience presenting to internal stakeholders such as senior and executive management and externally to the public, students, industry partners, other businesses, and shareholders.

Strong interpersonal skills; experience in building and maintaining productive relationships across the business with various stakeholders.

Strong business and financial acumen; extensive knowledge and understanding of business financials and commercial contracts.

Five years of management experience effectively leading, influencing and motivating a diverse team of professionals and stakeholders internally and externally. Ability to mentor and oversee the work of others; experience mentoring, developing and training others.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Advanced Degree in Business, Energy or Education.

Experience in building, expanding or running a business, business program or strategic initiative for an organization. Demonstrated experience and success at building from concept to successful execution.

Previous experience identifying and developing innovative solutions to raising funding for research, development or other activities.

Previous experience leading a space to remodel, modernization or exhibition installations; experience working with various trades and project staff to execute.

Knowledge of instructional design and implementation and evaluation principles, theories and methods. Knowledge of curriculum design and development.

Experience building state-of-the-art facilities for learning and collaborating; experiences building programs that are widely accessible and interactive online and in-person. Experience building immersive learning experiences that are anything but ordinary and where the public can gather (students, school groups, technology workshops, community gatherings, skills trades, academia, etc.)

Organized, possess a positive attitude with a proactive approach.

Knowledge of clean energy solutions, ideally nuclear solutions. Strong interest and passion for clean and sustainable energy solutions, interests in furthering the understanding of nuclear and the development of small modular reactors.

A continuous learner; someone who is forever curious, someone who seeks to innovate, challenge the status quo and exceed expectations.

Experience working in/for/on behalf of industries such as utilities, energy, power, mining or the public sector.

WHAT WE HAVE TO OFFER

ABOUT THE ROLE: As part of our Nuclear Sustainability team, reporting to the Director of Strategy & Stakeholder Relations, you will manage OPG's Canadian Centre for Nuclear Sustainability (CCNS). Create an inclusive and transparent environment within the community with a focus on bringing together various stakeholders to educate and advance understanding of clean energy solutions.

Develop a place where people can come together to advance and develop innovative ideas for the industry, and help to create economic stimulus while driving solutions to net-zero. Collaborate with industry, community, academia and other stakeholders for the creation of the best practices for the energy industry.

Use your knowledge and expertise in program and project management, along with your strong relationship-building skills, to share and deliver education programs, exhibitions, round table discussions, brainstorming forums, training seminars, fireside chats, public outreach events and other activities or related programming centred around energy literacy and thought leadership.

Be part of the team to lead the CCNS, the centre that advances innovation for sustainable energy solutions by bringing together companies and the public to understand and help further support climate change through the various initiatives through the CCNS.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Visionary Leadership: Expand the centre to reach an even wider audience, bring together the best people, to learn about all types of clean energy in an unbiased way. Collaborate with industry leaders and innovators, vendors, academia partners, local communities, and other stakeholders for the creation of the best practices for the energy and nuclear industry. Report back to executives and key leaders across OPG on the operations of CCNS, including KPIs, operating strategy, financial updates, membership experience, programs and performance.

Team Development & People Management: Provide strategic direction; develop, mentor and supervise a small team of direct reports. Manage the operations of CCNS, and all its active members and stakeholders to ensure strong performance and that the centre's goals are achieved while continuing to build further engagement and curiosity.

Membership Experience & Value Proposition: Develop and implement a membership experience and value proposition to ensure sustained engagement and notification of CCNS operation, and its goals; including the managing of various committees that support the CCNS mandate (Indigenous Advisory Committee, Community Advisory Committees, Steering Committee, Utilities Roundtable, etc.)

Financial Management: Manage the CCNS budget, which includes membership revenue, innovation investment, charitable strategy and identifying/leveraging other funding streams to advance the centre and innovative solutions in the energy industry.

Outreach Strategy: Develop a broad outreach strategy; encourage continued collaboration; bring together wider networks; allow for innovation, cross-industry collaboration and conversation, research and development to take place across other businesses, our industry, academia and within our communities.

Program Evaluation: Consult with various business stakeholders to determine needs and develop CCNS programs strategically to ensure they align with the needs of the business and industry, while continuously looking at opportunities to develop CCNS programs further.

Impact Studies: Lead and participate in various studies on economic impact and growth opportunities within the clean energy industry. Quantify decommissions economic impacts, develop a multipronged approach talent strategy with a focus on creating skilled jobs, and study GDP opportunities locally and internationally.
