The Senior Category Manager is accountable for the strategy and performance of The Mobile Shop business. A key responsibility in this role is the negotiation of competitive pricing and offers from wireless carriers, and the securing of program funding for promotions and campaigns. In addition, this role oversees the development and execution of new initiatives in close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners, and holds them accountable for their deliverables.
What You'll Do:

  • Responsible for ensuring TMS has regular flow of high value/highly marketable offers from carriers
  • Assess weekly performance of offers and competitiveness, meet with operations partner for input and insights
  • Oversee flawless campaign execution
  • Work cross functionally with sales, product, sales enablement and finance teams for inputs to optimize operational processes and flows
  • Responsible for finding new ways to drive incremental growth and revenue for The Mobile Shop
  • Own and oversee governance program, controls and processes for TMS operations
  • Regular store visits and offer support during store operating hours
  • Ensure overall store and customer experience is to Loblaw standards
  • Maintain positive and progressive relationship with carrier partners and key vendors to drive business results
  • Lead regular meetings with partners for planning and addressing issues
  • Work with internal teams (ie/marketing, PCO, etc) to determine marketing vehicles and mass/target approach
  • Responsible for MBRs/QBRs and other ad hoc business presentations
  • Well versed in industry performance, trends, products, services and opportunities
  • Weekly meetings with direct reports and all additional team members
What You Bring:
  • 7+ years of meaningful work experience in product management in Telecom
  • University degree in Business, Commerce or an equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job
  • Proven track record of driving financial and operational results
  • Strong level understanding of Microsoft Office suite, particularly of Excel and PowerPoint
  • Self-starter with proactive work ethic and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Ability to maximize data and think strategically to positively influence category strategy
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment by taking a proactive and solution-based approach in dealing with uncertainty
  • Ability to think both strategically at high-level while remaining diligent in all aspects of day-to-day tasks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Project management experience with ability to prioritize multiple sophisticated projects with opposing timeframes.
  • Thorough with strong organizational, project and time management skills with ability to adapt to change
