The Generic Business Development (GBD) team is critical to the growth of Pharmascience. Through in-licensing, co-development, acquisition, and other creative partnership arrangements, the GBD team leads third-party interactions to turn target opportunities for our global new product pipeline into reality. The GBD team works cross-functionally with our pipeline group and subject matter experts to identify, source, negotiate, and close business development deals with global partners.

Working closely with our Head of Generics Business Development, as the Manager, Business Development, you are a key member of the GBD team and are accountable for developing and managing business relationships, evaluating new opportunities, and executing deals that bring value to Pharmascience and patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the new product portfolio team to scout and prospect sources for new product targets.
  • Leverage business network to propose new partnerships and collaborations.
  • Develop conclusions and provide actionable recommendations supported by analysis, and presented in a visually compelling, clear, objective framework for business decisions.
  • Evaluate, negotiate, and close new product business development deals through in-licensing, cross-reference, product acquisition, co-development, and other collaboration agreements.
  • Collaborate with internal legal team and subject-matter experts to lead negotiations from term sheet to signing of legal contract.
  • Support integration and on-going relationship with partnerships as products advance through development to launch
Skills, knowledge and abilities:
  • Strong business acumen, sorting through priorities and interests of various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong sense of urgency and bias for action.
  • Knowledge of the generic pharmaceutical marketplace and it\xe2\x80\x99s supply network.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical translation by quickly sifting through details from a wide variety of sources and developing insights, implications, and actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to work independently, but also in a highly distributed cross-functional team
  • Strong computer background with experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written)
  • Fluency in English given the interaction with international partners to negotiate deals. Ability to communicate in French and other languages is an asset.
  • Appreciation of the related product development, regulatory and patent issues associated with multisource products (Asset)
  • Transaction experience (Asset)
  • Financial modeling experience (Asset)
  • Knowledge of IQVIA software and databases (Asset)

Experience : 5 years: 5 years of experience in Business Development, Marketing, or Business Analyst experience within the pharmaceutical industry
