We need a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager of Brand Communication to oversee all proactive public relations activities for the company\xe2\x80\x99s brands \xe2\x80\x93 food, beauty and loyalty. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing strategic communication campaigns to enhance brand visibility, reputation, and engagement with key stakeholders. This role requires a strong understanding of the retail industry, excellent communication skills, and the ability to effectively manage multiple brands, business partners and agencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive brand communication strategies to promote Loblaw\'s food brands (PC and No Name) and Shoppers Drug Mart\'s beauty brands (Quo Beauty and partnerships with key exclusive and priority brand partners).
  • Create and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, influencers, and industry partners to secure positive media coverage and brand exposure.
  • Proactively identify and leverage opportunities for brand partnerships, collaborations, media opportunities and sponsorships to enhance brand visibility and reach.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including marketing, social, media, product development, and senior leadership, to align brand communication efforts with overall business objectives.
  • Manage and oversee the execution of all brand communication initiatives, including press releases, media events, product launches, and influencer campaigns.
  • Monitor and analyze media coverage and industry trends to identify potential risks and opportunities for brand communication strategies.
  • Act as a spokesperson for the brands, effectively communicating key messages and representing the company\'s values and mission.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging trends in brand communication, public relations, and digital marketing.
  • Manage all budget elements and financial reporting associated with campaigns.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in brand communication, public relations, or a related role, preferably within the retail industry.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful brand communication strategies that drive brand awareness and engagement.
  • Strong understanding of the retail industry, including food and beauty sectors, and familiarity with Loblaw\'s food and beauty brands.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages and effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in media and influencer relations, including building relationships with journalists, securing coverage, and managing partnerships.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing and social media platforms, with a solid understanding of how to leverage these channels for brand communication purposes.
  • Knowledge of industry tools and analytics to measure the effectiveness of brand communication efforts.
