IATA is more than a trade association; it is a vision of a better future for air travel.About the team you are joiningReporting to IATA\'s Head for Aviation Security, this position will be primarily responsible for actively engaging aviation security stakeholders to lead and assess the impact of policies and programs that aim to reduce the security-related risks associated with the civil aviation ecosystem. Providing security policy and programs direction to ensure risk-based, sustainable, and efficient implementation of the global baseline security systems and measures for passenger and air cargo operations. Collaborate on cross-cutting topics associated with other security risks to the industry.What your day would be like

  • Develop, coordinate, and formulate industry-led civil aviation security policy and programs oversight to ensure international and domestic impact and influence required to comprehensively address air transport security issues, evolutions, and challenges.
  • Manage and delivery analysis as to the effectiveness of IATA policy and programs, and adjust, as needed, to meet emerging and anticipated future priorities. Ensuring a risk-based policy is maintained to establish and develop security international regulations, policies, and directives to reduce measurable and acceptable security risks to industry.
  • Manage the promotion and advocacy of air transport security regulations, standards and recommended practices; develop policies, supporting regulations and guidance material that facilitate innovative implementation; and maintain awareness and/or knowledge of the most current, impacting and proposed innovation in the area civil aviation security. Provide expert security guidance to industry and government stakeholders on security policy issues at industry-sponsored conferences and meetings.
  • Facilitate and maintain a network of partners for purposes of ensuring that there is current and consistent information and advocacy regarding IATA policies and activities and their impact on domestic and international air transport security operations. Ensure that regular, recurring, and current aviation-related security information and activities are shared within the IATA members, including regulators, and other industry stakeholders. Build strong relationships between States authorities, airports, and airlines to enhance data-sharing and information-sharing efforts, practices and uses.
  • Provide leadership and management of analysis (written and oral) to different audiences.
  • Support the IATA Security Consultancy service line as and when required.
We would love to hear from you if
  • Documented working/operational knowledge of civil aviation regulatory and operational frameworks, airline and/or airport security operations\xcd\xbe
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to present publicly\xcd\xbe
  • Demonstrated skills to perform in a high-pressure, multicultural, and international environment;
  • Successful completion of IATA or ICAO Aviation Security Courses, IATA SeMS Course, IATA or ICAO Security Audit, Inspection and/or Quality Control Courses.
  • Successful completion (90% or more) at the IATA SeMS Quiz and/or SeMS Competency Test;
  • Successful completion of the ICAO Aviation Professional Manager Course (AVSEC PMC), the ICAO Master of Science (MSc) in Aviation Security, or any other nationally/regionally/internationally recognized training and certification aviation courses;
  • Must have excellent writing, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Teams skills.
