What You'll Be Doing
As an integral member of Simplii Financials' Operations teams and reporting to the Senior Director Operations, the Senior Manager, Automation identifies opportunities for automation, including being hands on during the automation lifecycle from design, writing and executing of queries, managing projects, defining requirements, overseeing data integrity, and collaborating with technical teams and business stakeholders to achieve business goals. The Senior Manager is responsible to develop and implement the vision and roadmap for business operational automation initiatives within Simplii financial.At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role you'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 1-2 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
How you'll succeedProcess improvement - Lead efforts to automate operational processes, improving efficiency in areas like campaigns, fund recovery processes, and reporting and manage existing scripts. Oversee the planning, designing, writing, execution of queries, and overall tracking of automation projects, ensuring they align with the roadmap and strategic goals. You will utilize Micro Focus UFT One 2021 (Unified Functional Testing) Selenium, TestNG, Cucumber tools, Knowledge of SAS (Statistical Analysis System) Programming or similar programs to facilitate various automate operations activities. Stakeholder Collaboration - Work closely with Simplii product, digital teams, process engineering, executive leaders, and other internal enterprise teams as required to identify needs, gather requirements, and ensure successful implementation of solutions. Leadership - Manage, mentor, and inspire teams of analysts and developers responsible for designing, building, and implementing automation solutions. Provide clear direction, set performance expectations, and foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and continuous learning. Support team members' professional growth through coaching, regular feedback, and development opportunities. Ensure effective resource allocation, promote knowledge sharing, and drive accountability for high-quality, timely delivery of automation initiatives aligned with organizational goals. Technical expertise - Identify and implement innovative automation solutions for ad hoc requests, as well as maintaining the running of existing packages, leveraging expertise in tools such as UFT and ICBS applications to develop practical, effective improvements. Analyze existing scripts and processes to understand current limitations and reimagine future-state solutions that drive efficiency and productivity. Identify cutting edge and automation technologies, frameworks, DevOps Products and techniques, and determine if they should be incorporated in our Simplii operations to drive transformation. Lead the design of cost-effective and innovative solutions to meet both business objectives and the goal of operational efficiency.

Who You AreYou can demonstrate 3 to 7 years work experience in automation technologies and data analytics tools with in-depth understanding of finance operations, financial reporting, and related risks. You can demonstrate 3 to 7 years work experience and in-depth knowledge in automation tools and frameworks like Microfocus UFT/Selenium/ Robot/ Quantum, software development experience in Java, Python, VBScript, writing and executing SQL queries. You also have strong work experience in API testing. It's an asset if you have prior experience in No/Low Code Tools (VBA, Alteryx, Power Automate, Power App), Analytics Software (Tableau, Power BI), Databases (SAS, Oracle, SQL Server), Cloud (Azure, AWS), ETL (Informatica, SSIS), and Tools (Tools: source control/issue management: Git, TFS, JIRA, Azure DevOps, Selenium). You can demonstrate 1 to 2 years work experience in leading teams, manage projects, and influence stakeholders. You have proven organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple high-priority projects. You have a degree/diploma: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Technical discipline with specialization on Advanced Analytics, ML or AI is considered a plus. It's an asset if you have PMP and Lean 6 Sigma certification. You give meaning to data. You enjoy investigating complex problems and making sense of information.
