What You\'ll Do:
The Management Systems Division (MSD) supports the CNSC\'s mission by providing regulatory leadership and expertise in quality assurance, quality management and management systems that integrate all aspects of management to assure that requirements for safety are established and applied coherently with other requirements.

The Management Systems Division is looking for you \xe2\x80\x93 a passionate individual in the area of Oversight of Management Systems to join their team!
You will have the opportunity to use your expertise to work as part of a team to:

  • Lead the development/maintenance of CNSC\xe2\x80\x99s regulatory framework
  • Assess the licensee\xe2\x80\x99s Management System and Quality Management programs to verify
compliance with CNSC requirements and expectations.
  • Lead or participate in Management System and Quality Management program inspections.
  • Prepare recommendations, reports and other documentation.
  • Review and analyze licensee events.
  • Manage large projects related to area of specialization.
  • Represent CNSC at national and international technical/scientific meetings and
organizations.
  • Coach and train junior staff members and external colleagues.
Hiring Conditions:
Candidates must meet and maintain the following hiring conditions throughout their employment.

Essential Qualifications: Education:
University degree in science, engineering, management science or equivalent in education and experience

Language Requirements:
English Essential

Experience:
  • Development and/or oversight of management systems and /or quality management and
quality assurance programs in the nuclear domain and/or other high reliability industries
  • Conducting evaluations, e.g. inspections, audits and assessments
  • Managing large projects involving internal and external stakeholders
Knowledge of:
  • Nuclear or other high reliability industries (e.g. aviation, military, pharmaceutical)
  • The fundamental principles of Management Systems, Quality Management, Quality
Assurance and the application of these principles in the development and implementation
of management system and quality management, quality assurance programs and
standards
  • Inspection, investigation and audit techniques, procedures and practices
  • Application of risk informed approach to regulating.
  • Project management principles and practices
  • Mentoring and knowledge management
Ability to:
  • Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing

Operational Needs:
  • All CNSC staff are subject to the Mobility Directive.
  • This position requires travel to licensee sites throughout Canada.
  • International travel may be required.
