The Senior Maintenance Technician, based on Fogo Island, will perform a variety of functions to support daily operations While working in a fast-paced environment, the incumbent will demonstrate a positive can-do attitude. The Senior Maintenance Technician will report to the Maintenance Lead. General Responsibilities: \xc2\xb7 Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Fogo Island Inn\xe2\x80\x99s facility systems including but not limited to water treatment, boilers, refrigeration, humidifiers, hot tubs, HRV\xe2\x80\x99s, hydronic solar system, laundry, and kitchen equipment. \xc2\xb7 Ensuring the Inn\xe2\x80\x99s preventive and corrective maintenance tasks are completed in a timely manner. \xc2\xb7 Ensuring spare parts inventory is ample and up to date. \xc2\xb7 Fostering a strong ethic of good housekeeping providing a clean working environment amongst the Fogo Island Inn Maintenance team and contractors. \xc2\xb7 Creating a culture of engagement and continuous learning, developing and mentoring junior staff, and working toward the operation\xe2\x80\x99s goals and objectives. \xc2\xb7 Coordinating daily work activity and receiving maintenance tasks from the Maintenance Team Lead. \xc2\xb7 Monitoring and troubleshooting the Fogo Island Inn\xe2\x80\x99s building management software. \xc2\xb7 Enforcing and following all applicable safety rules and procedures. \xc2\xb7 Preparing operating procedures for system equipment and machinery. \xc2\xb7 Maintaining a neatly dressed and groomed appearance. Ensuring uniform is in good order. \xc2\xb7 Collaborating in a positive manner with all members of the team at the Inn. \xc2\xb7 Willing to work weekends, shift work, and overtime as necessary. \xc2\xb7 Other duties as required. The ideal candidate: \xc2\xb7 Journeyperson designation in any trade or equivalent work experience is a strong asset. \xc2\xb7 Valid Canadian driver\xe2\x80\x99s license is an essential requirement. \xc2\xb7 Accreditations in other trades considered an asset. \xc2\xb7 Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
