About the Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our Autonomy team. The Autonomy team at Avidbots is responsible for developing production quality software that enables our robots to navigate autonomously in its environment. If you are excited about the world of autonomous robotics and have experience building industrial scale infrastructure for machine learning software, this is a unique opportunity to join a growing team in an emerging product category.

In this role, you will work closely with an experienced engineering team in bringing pioneering machine learning solutions to market for robot perception and navigation applications. You will have direct influence on the design of our end-to-end machine learning infrastructure and data pipelines. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a proven track record in developing machine learning software in production.

How You Will Make a Difference:

  • Own deployment of machine learning functionalities into production systems.
  • Architect and build scalable software for effective data management, model development, performance validation and metrics monitoring.
  • Work closely with other functional teams, QA, Product Manager and Project Manager to integrate machine learning components into our existing robot systems.
  • Develop systems for production machine learning model versioning and monitoring.
  • Drive continuous improvement to streamline model development and deployment.
  • Provide technical leadership and champion software development best practices.

Requirements:

  • B.Sc. or graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Machine Learning, Statistics or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience with software development in a professional setting
  • 3+ years of experience working with machine learning solutions in production
  • Proven experience building scalable infrastructure for machine learning applications
  • Experience with industry-standard machine learning frameworks, platforms and tools
  • Proficient with programming in C++ and Python
  • Ability to troubleshoot machine learning deployment and production issues
  • Driven individual, passionate about robotics, self-starter

Bonus:

  • Experience with cloud-based machine learning software deployment
  • Background in computer vision, perception, or robotics
  • Exposure to Robot Operating System (ROS)
  • Exposure to Agile project management using industry standard tools such as Jira
  • Working knowledge of Linux-based operating systems
  • Experience working with a global team
