Core Purpose and Essence of the Position
Implement small to large scale supply chain projects across multiple destinations in Canada. The projects include implementing process changes, capacity improvements, executing small to large scale automation projects, client startups & supporting various operational teams to stay on plan. The Sr. Logistics Engineer will report to Sr. Manager of Engineering, but will also work closely with key stakeholders in Operations, Business Development, WMS Engineers, HR & IT.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Technical

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, process efficiencies & operational / system compliance of designed solutions
  • Perform analysis of data, processes & material flow related to existing operations to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Evaluate and analyze data, processes and material flow related to existing operations in order to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Implement process changes / new processes working closely with operations.
  • Problem solving facilitation and training where required
Project Management
  • Documenting, monitoring and communicating project timelines, milestones and objectives.
  • Follow disciplined change management process to ensure that implemented changes that are sustainable.
  • Working closely with Project & Implementation, Solutions & Pricing & Applications Engineering teams to ensure standardization of best practices in DSV.
  • Support major changes within the warehouse with regards to processes, MHE, WMS, automation & mechanization
  • Implement automation and mechanization initiatives
Training & Quality
  • Training on Lean, Six Sigma & Change Management
  • Implement initiatives and monitor quantitative benefits of changes.
Required Competencies
Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of WMS (Warehouse Management Systems)
  • Strong proficiency of MS Office (Outlook and Excel)
  • Knowledge of Excel, Access & AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of MS Power BI, MS Visio & Project is preferrable
Communication Skills
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Able to communicate design ideas, drive discussions to generate ideas & solve problems
  • Customize response based on audience
Organizational Skills
  • Task prioritization & time management skill
Other
  • Able to travel within GTA and if required outside Canada for conferences & trade events
  • Knowledge of basic engineering finances & accounting principles
  • Knowledge of warehousing processes, systems and equipment (MHE)
Minimum Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Industrial Engineering required or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum 1-2 years\' experience in warehouse environment
