SCOPE
Reporting to the Manager, Access & Delivery Services, and in collaboration with the Access & Delivery Services Librarian, the incumbent supports both Manager and Librarian in the delivery of access and delivery services including circulation, interlibrary loans, scan & deliver services and course reserves. The incumbent is responsible for supporting specific modules of the library systems/platforms utilized in the unit, maintenance of the unit\'s intranet and external webpages, patron and fines management, statistics and reports management, documentation, triage and troubleshooting, and timely escalation of issues requiring higher levels of expertise or authority. The incumbent performs other duties as assigned and may be assigned to work evenings or weekends occasionally.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform tasks related to ongoing systems support and maintenance for platforms/software in the unit, including but not limited to: upgrades, testing, documentation, etc.; run reports and generate lists and statistics; investigates/troubleshoots systems related issues e.g., access issues, item/patron records; and assists with monitoring request queues and communicates with unit supervisors as needed.
  • Responsible for service infrastructure support, including but not limited to: overdues and fines management; interlibrary billing and payments; and overseeing the unit\'s equipment needs.
  • Maintenance of the unit\'s internal and external webpages, including file management, keeping information accurate, current and consistent; and preparation of various types of documentation.
  • Provide support with triage and troubleshooting, including but not limited to supporting service points and workflows; assisting with complex bibliographic and citation questions/issues; assisting with copyright guidelines and licensing restrictions relevant to the unit.
  • Actively participate in assigned internal and external (e.g., PBUQ) committees and meetings.
  • Support the overall operations including but not limited to: providing operational support to the Manager as needed, e.g., leads small projects, prepares documentation and/or reports; participates in limited frontline service delivery on a regular basis in order to understand workflows, unit needs, and user behaviour.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Diploma of Collegial Studies (3-year technical DEC) in Library and Information Technologies and a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience.
  • A minimum of one year of recent experience with or very good knowledge of the staff modules of an integrated library system or library services platform, and of systems/software relevant to the unit; knowledge of Concordia specific system/software is an asset.
  • Demonstrated interest and ability to learn and adapt to new technology, software applications and platforms on an ongoing basis.
  • Ability to interpret bibliographic citations and search library catalogues/databases.
  • Good knowledge (Level 4) of spoken English and French; good knowledge (Level 4) of written English and basic knowledge (Level 3) of written French; fluency is preferred.
  • Ability to write effectively and succinctly for the purposes of internal documentation and external information sharing.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of working in the Windows operating system and ability to manage electronic files.
  • Good knowledge (Intermediate level) of Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet navigation skills. Proficiency with office technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to use web-based collaborative platforms for communications, document sharing, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are essential, evidence of the ability to work cooperatively with co-workers in a team environment, and to work as part of a team in finding creative ways to solve problems and deliver excellent services.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and prioritize own work, and to work independently and efficiently on numerous tasks, with effective attention to deadlines, accuracy and detail.
