Join our Legal Department to serve the iA Auto business line as a Senior Legal Counsel! The iA Auto division is comprised of various business lines and subsidiaries that offer insurance and financial products to customers of car dealerships, such as loans, creditor insurance or automobile insurance.

As part of our team, whose mission is to legally support this group\'s business strategies and objectives, you will have the opportunity to provide legal advice in collaboration with other members of the sector. Currently, the expertise sought is primarily related to insurance and financial products distributed through our car dealership network and related areas.

As Senior Legal Counsel, your primary responsibilities will be to:

  • Provide legal advice to the different businesses and sectors within this division of iA Financial Group by proactively influencing, recommending and using business-oriented solutions while being client-centric
  • Draft, review or negotiate contracts entered into for this line of business, including policy contracts, agency contracts, distribution or marketing agreements and third-party administration agreements
  • Work with or report to management on certain issues
  • Participate in product and business development process and implementation, such as the review or development of insurance and financial products and tools
  • Work on files with multidisciplinary teams of varying expertise
  • Actively participate in industry committees on various topics to represent the company\'s position, work with key market players and develop networking
  • Monitor legislative developments and produce legal and impact analyses, particularly for senior management
  • Contribute to the advancement and development of knowledge and expertise of colleagues
  • Participate in various continuous improvement initiatives to improve processes and business efficiency

Requirements
  • University degree in law
  • Member of the Quebec Bar
  • 10 years or more of relevant legal experience
  • Excellent command of French and English (oral and written) for frequent interaction with internal French-and English-speaking colleagues or partners across Canada
