Khakh Law P.C. is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Law Clerk to join our legal team. This role is pivotal in supporting attorneys with a variety of legal tasks, including drafting documents, managing case files, and handling transactional work related to real estate and corporate law. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in corporate and real estate transactions, including purchases, sales, secured lending, and private lending. Strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a solid understanding of legal procedures are essential for success in this role. Duties
Perform and interpret title and off-title searches, drafting requisitions as needed.
Manage files from start to finish with minimal supervision, staying organized and efficient.
Prepare trust ledgers, statements of adjustments, and statements of accounts.
Order Title Insurance Policies and communicate with clients, financial institutions, municipalities, and land registry offices in a professional manner.
Process files efficiently using Unity, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
Communicate professionally with clients, real estate agents, brokers, and institutions via phone, fax, or email.
Draft all necessary documents for closing and ensure timely reporting to institutions and clients.
Demonstrate proficiency in Teraview and Unity, taking initiative and managing multiple tasks effectively.
Prepare reporting letters and post-closing accounts promptly.
Handle corporate maintenance, registrations, due diligence, searches, and filings.
Assist with structuring and restructuring transactions.
Requirements
Proven 2 years of experience of Real Estate and Corporate Law within a law firm.
Successful completion of a related post-secondary Legal Assistant or Law Clerk program
Handle time pressured situations and stress of multiple shifting demands
Excellent verbal and written communication skills when dealing with lawyers, clients, staff and third parties including a positive telephone presence
Demonstrate self-direction & flexibility in handling various office administrative duties
Intermediate knowledge of Unity Software, Teraview, Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word and Excel
Remarkable teamwork & organizational skills are essential in this role
University/College degree is an asset, but not a requirement
