Responsibilities:

Provide technical leadership, coaching, and guidance to development teams, ensuring high-quality deliverables. Act as the point of escalation for the development team, troubleshooting complex issues and providing solutions. Collaborate with Architecture & Design, Delivery, and other technical leads to align development with the client's strategic vision. Drive the design, development, testing, and deployment of Java-based applications and microservices. Ensure adherence to DevOps best practices, including CI/CD pipelines, code management, and automated testing. Contribute subject matter expertise across multiple technical domains, providing input on solution design, standards, and tooling. Lead a small team of 5-7 developers, ensuring development activities are completed in alignment with established standards and guidelines. Engage in technical information exchange with clients, partners, and project teams; act as a trusted advisor and internal expert resource. Maintain a commitment to delivering high-quality, secure, and scalable software solutions.

Qualifications:

7+ years of relevant experience, including prior experience leading a team of 5-7 developers. Strong expertise in: Java, Spring / Spring Boot, REST API development, Microservices (Java or Node.js), JBoss application server, SQL, Microsoft Azure (Azure EventHub, Confluent Kafka, ASP) or AWS equivalents. Deep knowledge of enterprise architecture, technical environment, and solution design. Working knowledge of Bitbucket, Git, Confluence, JIRA, CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools and Agile development methodologies. Ability to work autonomously in a lead capacity, managing a diverse range of development activities. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Nice to have skills: OAuth and Event-Driven Messaging, Postman API testing, Operating systems (Windows, Linux), JBoss scripting / CLI, Prior financial industry (FI) experience
