What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Be Doing

You will be joining the Capital Markets Technology group, specifically supporting the Simplii Financial Technology team. This group delivers on the strategic priorities of Simplii Financial\'s business team and assists on their journey to be the #1 bank in Canada. As a Sr Java Developer, will be working within a Team Lead capacity, team supporting Simplii\'s Digital Transformation, successfully implementing complex, enterprise-scale solutions on modern platforms with a variety of system integration and patterns. As a Sr. Java Developer, you first need to be an expert programmer. You will be working closely with your development team and partners such as user experience, quality assurance, business analysts, scrum masters and product owners to deliver new features to our many web applications.

You\xe2\x80\x99ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you\xe2\x80\x99ll spend 1 day per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you\'ll succeed

• Programming Skills - Develop code and test computer programs for straightforward assignments. Review, analyze, and modify programming systems, including encoding, testing, and debugging.
• Systems Implementation - Participate in the technical design, development, and integration of cross functional, multi-platform application systems.
• Planning and Coordination - Effectively interact with team members, end users, business analysts, and technical resources to gather requirements and prepare design specifications as instructed by senior team members.

Who you are

• You can demonstrate experience in Java/J2EE, Spring/Springboot, Web Services (SOAP, JSON and RESTFul APIs). Proven and solid hands-on experience of a minimum of 4+ years in Microservices and API development in an enterprise environment while working in an Agile environment. It is an asset if you have experience with Cloud Technology, specifically Microsoft Azure.
