Job Description


Markets Finance Trading Technology (MFTT) is part of Rates department within the Institutional Clients Group (ICG). The Team works closely with the Citi global Finance Desk and focused on Repo trading activity. The suite of Finance Desk applications provides position management, trade capture, electronic trading, market risk processing and reporting. This is supported by a mixed technology environment consisting of client-server applications, developed in Java, Angular and C#, with services running on Linux servers and Cloud Containers.

This provides unique opportunity to work closely with the business stakeholders while building towards the strategic technology roadmap. We are looking for technically strong candidates who can work as team players and capable of taking ownership and independently leading initiatives when needed.

Job Responsibilities / Role:

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining suite of Finance Desk application as a part of global development team.
  • Production of high-quality software, emphasizing simplicity, maintainability and reuse, using standard development process;
  • Understands business priorities, documents requirements and determines solutions in partnership with other internal teams.
  • Application Development primarily focused on Market Risk processing.
  • Accountable for all phases of development process\xe2\x80\x94analysis, design, construction, testing and implementation; provides user and operational support on applications to business users.
  • Ensures essential procedures are followed and helps to define operating standards and processes.
  • Applies comprehensive understanding of how multiple areas collectively integrate within apps development to contribute towards achieving business objectives.
  • Participating in key business initiatives primarily focused on Trade capture and Market Risk processing.
  • Coordinate global testing and schedule application rollouts.
  • Contribute towards improving the Dev Ops CI/CD Pipelines and Strategic Architecture.
  • Work closely with partner technology teams and to collaborate effectively.
  • Capable of working flexible hours to collaborate with the global team.
  • Monitor and control all phases of development process and analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation as well as provide user and operational support on applications to business users
  • Utilize in-depth specialty knowledge of applications development to analyze complex problems/issues, provide evaluation of business process, system process, and industry standards, and make evaluative judgement
  • Recommend and develop security measures in post implementation analysis of business usage to ensure successful system design and functionality
  • Consult with users/clients and other technology groups on issues, recommend advanced programming solutions, and install and assist customer exposure systems
  • Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes
  • Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts
  • Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science / Information Technology or a related field, or substantial practical experience of software delivery.
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in Application Development role.
Technical Skills Required:
  • Very Strong core Java skills.
  • Strong experience with Spring boot/Microservice-style application development.
  • Experience with cloud based architectures on OpenShift or Kubernetes.
  • Hands on experience with CI/CD tools Jenkins, TeamCity, Sonar Cube, BitBucket etc.
  • Experience with Messaging and Caching frameworks such as Kafka and Gemfire.
  • Strong experience with Relational Databases.
  • Familiar with Agile development/Software life cycle.
  • Testing experience with distributed software applications.
  • Strong experience with Unix or Linux.
  • Understanding of Capital markets is a plus.
Non-Technical Skills Required:
  • Experience in working with distributed teams situated globally in different time-zones.
  • Flexible and adaptive, team player.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task.
  • Ability to take ownership, drive strategy and well organized.
