Job Description


Permanent Full Time-Objective:The Special Investigations Unit\'s Senior Investigator works within the Canada Life Fraud Management Team, focused on group health and dental plans. This Investigator will conduct interviews and gather evidence by performing surveillance and utilizing undercover techniques.To be successful in this role, you will require the skills to analyze data, implement established investigative/interview techniques, conduct interviews, gather evidence, and document findings. The Senior Investigator must be a self-motivated team player who can periodically travel across Canada.What you will do:

  • Assess information to determine investigative avenues.
  • Develop investigative plans that meet criminal prosecution and/or civil action standards.
  • Analyze claim data.
  • Conduct witness and subject interviews.
  • Conduct onsite provider audits to ensure compliance.
  • Perform undercover and covert operations.
  • Perform surveillance.
  • Prepare investigative reports for senior management, regulatory bodies, and law enforcement.
  • Collect and present evidence for court and/or tribunals.
  • Make recommendations for the improvement of procedures and internal controls.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships throughout the organization.
What you will bring:
  • A minimum of 5 years investigative experience.
  • Education/skills acquired through the completion of a post-secondary degree or equivalent.
  • Strong investigative and interview/interrogation skills.
  • Experience in drafting investigative reports.
  • Experience in courtroom testimony and the presentation of evidence.
  • Law Enforcement background is an asset.
  • CFE or CFI designation is an asset.
  • Ability to communicate in French is an asset.
  • Experience in conducting surveillance is an asset.
  • Experience in conducting undercover investigations is an asset.
  • Understanding of group insurance concepts and products in an asset.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Possess a valid driver\'s licence issued by the province of your residency.
  • Access to a personal vehicle for business travel.
  • The ability to travel across Canada to conduct investigations.
-The base salary for this position is between $51,400 - $ 95,200 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
