Position Overview
Atlantic Ex-Works Inc. is seeking an experienced
Senior International Freight Coordinator
to join our growing team.
This full-time role works closely with senior management to coordinate international ocean and air shipments (import and export), support customs brokerage activities, prepare invoices, and maintain proactive communication with clients throughout the logistics process.
The ideal candidate is detail-driven, professional, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, timelines, and client service are top priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate ocean and air freight shipments from booking to final delivery
Prepare and review documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading
Maintain clear and proactive communication with clients regarding shipment updates and milestones
Work directly with carriers, warehouses, and international agents to ensure efficient cargo movement
Support CBSA and international customs clearance processes
Prepare and issue freight invoices accurately and on time
Monitor payment status and collaborate with accounting to ensure billing accuracy
Identify and resolve shipment delays, exceptions, or service issues
Maintain shipment records and update internal systems with real-time information
Build and support long-term client relationships through exceptional service
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience in international freight forwarding and/or customs brokerage
Strong understanding of ocean and air freight processes, Incoterms, and documentation
Experience coordinating both import and export shipments
Knowledge of CBSA requirements, customs clearance steps, and CARM processes
Excellent communication and client service skills
High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Proficient with Microsoft Office, logistics systems, and shipment tracking tools
