Adecco is currently recruiting for a Senior Internal Auditor for a 1-year contract. The role is fully remote until further notice. The successful candidate must hold a valid Reliability Security Clearance or be eligible for one.
The Senior Internal Auditor will have the following responsibilities:

• Plans and executes assurance and advisory engagements across operations in accordance with the standards set out by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and departmental procedures.
• Develops audit objectives, scopes, audit programs, and audit tests in collaboration with Internal Audit management and other staff.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of internal controls using appropriate audit techniques (including analysis of complex information, data or situations), develops recommendations, and follows up to ensure that issues are resolved.
• Establishes and maintains effective client relationships with Management with a focus on adding value.
• Works with external and specialist consultants in the performance of audit engagements. Reviews the analysis and audit evidence prepared by other team members for quality and provides advice and guidance accordingly.
• Debriefs organizational and Internal Audit management on audit results.
• Works in collaboration with Internal Audit management to draft audit reports.
• Follows up on management action plans to ensure that issues are resolved.
• Meets established timelines and communicates any issues relating to timelines or budget requirements to manager. Maintains constant communication with manager ensuring that expectations and challenges are addressed.
• Promotes the use of innovative and continuous improvement techniques within audits.
• Remains current and increases knowledge in the areas of auditing, business, company products and company information through self-study, continuing education efforts, and internal networking.
• Provides expertise in one or more of the following areas: Management Practices; Finance; Information Technology (IT); Fraud Detection and Prevention; Postal Operations, Logistics, Transportation; Risk Management/Control Self-Assessment; Governance

The Senior Internal Auditor must meet the following mandatory requirements:

• Completed university degree, preferably in a related field.
• 3 to 5 years of internal audit experience, including all aspects of audit methodology and audit reporting.
• 2 or more years' experience supervising and reviewing the work of auditors.
• Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation, OR eligibility and willingness to attain it, passing all required exams within the first year of assuming the position.
• A professional designation such as a professional accounting designation (CPA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) is an asset.
• Strong understanding of internal audit methodologies and process / engagement-level risk assessment.
• A high degree of professional skepticism, natural curiosity, and a keen eye for detail.
• Sound organizational, analytical, judgement and decision-making skills with proven abilities in problem solving.
• Solid information and data analysis skills.
• Experience performing data analytics and visualization using ACL and/or Tableau is an asset.
• Good project management skills and ability to balance competing demands and expectations.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Fluency in English is required; fluency in French is an asset.
• Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to build and maintain relationships.
• Excellent team building and leadership skills and experience.
• Proficient computer skills and competent with Microsoft Office programs.
• Willingness to work non-standard hours and travel on rare occasions.
• One or more years of experience in a unionized environment an asset
