Hi there! We are a boutique interior design firm in Toronto and we are looking for a super star designer to join our team! Our ideal candidate has over three years experience working in an interior design or architectural firm in Canada, preferably Ontario. We need someone who is highly motivated and can work independently to bring our designs to life.Job Requirements:Languages: English - must be proficient in written communications in EnglishEducation: Graduated from a recognized Interior Design Diploma or Bachelor Degree programWork Experience: Minimum three years working experience in interior design firm or equivalent and recent AutoCAD experience.Our Ideal Candidate:We need someone well rounded in all aspects of interior design to join our team. In short, we need a highly motivated self starter who can jump right in and start leading smaller scale renovation and decorating projects with minimal supervision. We work remotely most of the time at our home offices and meet as a team to collaborate as needed.You must be able to produce full working drawings for renovations and custom millwork including construction plans and detailed elevations referenced by contractors.Your own vehicle is a must as we will require you to attend site meetings to meet with clients and trades. Visiting showrooms to source finishes and fixtures, pick up samples and product for clients is part of the tasks you will be responsible for.The successful candidate must provide both administrative and clerical support and maintain relationships with vendors as well as confirm pricing and place orders for approved items.Must be able to convert ideas into sketches and mock-ups. Knowledge of Google Sketchup is a bonus, and you must be able to edit and work on files prepared by other designers in AutoCAD.This is a contract position working for our company. You must have own HST number and will be responsible for tracking your time spent on each task per project invoicing for your time on a biweekly basis.Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide assistance in the creation of preliminary plans and design concepts
• Assist interior designers with sample selections, plans, schedules and inspiration boards
• Create specifications schedules
• Maintain knowledge of space planning, floor plans and elevations
• Provide support in creating sourcing materials and CAD plans for various projects
• Visit construction sites for various project management, site measurements, etc.
• Assist in purchasing staging items and set up for photo shoots
