Job Description

Established in 2009, Principal Designers and Co-Founders Erin Feasby and Cindy Bleeks designed to take their combined experiences working for high end residential design and architecture firms, as well as Canada's leading Interior Design Magazine, and build their own company and brand. Since then, the firm has grown to include an incredible team of talented individuals, who collaborate on all aspects of their design projects. As we continue to grow and take on even bigger and better projects, we are seeking a creative, talented, collaborative and experienced Senior Designer to join our team.

EXPERIENCE



10+ years hands-on residential design experience in a similar role

B.A./B.A.A - Bachelor of Arts or Applied Arts in Interior Design from a recognized University or College

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



As the successful candidate, you will play a key role on the team designated by our Principal Designers to design, manage and coordinate our high-end residential design and/or decorating projects. You will work closely with our Principals, Lead Designer, Intermediate Designer, Studio Director, clients and trade partners on all facets of our projects, including but not limited to:

Creating concepts, design boards and design direction packages Performing site measures, inputting them into CAD Creating scopes of work, estimates of hours and project budgets as required Creating detailed budget spreadsheets and tracking costs throughout the duration of projects Compiling and organizing information and paperwork pertaining to client projects. Setting up and maintaining client files and/or binders Communicating design ideas and information through both 2D and 3D drawings and renderings Reviewing and marking up drawings by others General project managing, delegating and managing others on various tasks Overseeing the quoting stage and reviewing quotes received. Helping guide the clients through the quoting and decision process Sourcing finishes, creating finish boards, physical client presentations and digital packages Quoting and producing design proposals in Studio Designer for client approval Sourcing lighting, furnishings, decor & accessories etc. as applicable to the project and building the digital presentation packages for each as required Building work-back schedules and working with the trades and construction team to see it through Reviewing suppliers' and trades' shop drawings and verifying accuracy and details with concept designs and drawings Daily communication with installers, trades and construction professionals to ensure timeliness and quality control on behalf of the firm and the clients Coordinating and tracking the progress and production of retail, wholesale and custom orders Arranging, attending and managing site measures and installations by others Shopping for styling work, accessories and assisting with installations and set-ups both for clients and media work Providing onsite job inspections to ensure work is carried out as per job specifications Final walk-through(s) to ensure Firm and client satisfaction. Assisting Principals in capturing photo and video content for social media and marketing purposes through various stages of the projects. Opportunity to assist with conceptualizing and creating social media content for the firm as required Photo uploading, organizing & sharing Tracking and recording time and detailed work descriptions both billable and non-billable Assisting with any other needs our team members and colleagues have

QUALIFICATIONS, REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS



Live locally in the GTA and have a vehicle for daily use Portfolio of completed projects High attention to detail as well as the ability to focus strongly on tasks and details with a very high level of accuracy Willingness to handle tasks both large and small and ability to juggle multiple projects at a time Excellent project and time management skills and experience in tracking and recording billable and unbillable time Expertise in space planning, millwork design, reading architectural and construction drawings and specifications High proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp and/or Revit (or similar 3D drawing software), Photoshop/Illustrator (or similar rendering software). Strong graphic design and presentation skills would be an asset Exceptional knowledge and understanding of proportion and scale Experience in managing and running a project from start to finish Experience and confidence in client relations and managing of trades Great relationship builder with existing working relationships and knowledge of suppliers, manufacturers, workrooms, retailers, vendors and sales reps within the Design & Decor industry Existing working relationships with General Contractors and trades would be an asset Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively Adept problem-solver and loyal team-player who goes above and beyond expectation Strong knowledge of fabrics, wallcoverings, finishes and materials Demonstrates strength in colour theory and composition Excellent knowledge and experience with window treatments, soft furnishings, casegoods, millwork, textiles, plumbing, lighting, flooring, tile, solid surfaces, exterior materials etc. Exceptional working knowledge and experience with Google G-Suite (Google Drive, Google Mail, Google Docs, Google Slides) and/or MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint (or other presentation software) Strongly organized in the planning and execution of work tasks and able to multi-task Professional yet affable in demeanor with excellent communication skills Diligent and dedicated worker who is committed to achieving the best outcomes Effective listening skills to understand direction Works with all different people and has patience in dealing with changes and constructive feedback Ability to recognize quality work, materials and craftsmanship with a discerning eye

Salary Range - This is a salaried position being offered at $75,000 - 80,000 per year with 3 weeks paid vacation, additional days off at Christmas (as determined by calendar year) and paid sick days (further details to be outlined in contract/offer of employment).
