The senior hydrogeologist will manage and undertake projects and technical studies in the field of hydrogeology and hydrogeochemistry as required for mine exploration, development, operations, reclamation and closure. They will collaborate with our mining engineering specialists on hard rock mining, evaporitic rock mining with underground, open pit and solution mining operations. This role will be responsible for overseeing quality control including review and approval of technical correspondence, project proposals, technical reports, work plans, and project specifications including cost estimates and budgets. Together, we provide niche services to solve complex problems in mine water management. You will be at the forefront of delivering innovative and sustainable solutions for our clients across Canada and internationally.


In this client-facing role, you will enjoy engaging with clients and actively participating in business development activities to expand our services and client base. As a leader within the team, you will work alongside the Director of Mine Water Management, playing a key role in supporting our clients and their water management needs

Qualifications



The ideal candidate will have the following:

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, geological science, or a related field. A master's degree or higher preferred Minimum of 15 years of consulting experience conducting developing and executing hydrogeological projects in the mining sector in relating to mine water management Professional Registration: Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or Professional Geologist (P.Geo) designation or eligibility for registration in British Columbia. Registrations in other provinces/territories or the U.S. would be considered an asset Adept in analytical and numerical groundwater flow modelling including the development of three-dimensional geological models Contaminant transport modeling and Water Quality Predictive modelling preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment

Compensation:

Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. Compensation includes a comprehensive health, dental and vision benefits package. RESPEC is a 100% employee-owned company and employees are eligible for participation in the EPP after a qualifying period.
