Working for Pembina means working safely.Overview:Pembina Pipeline Corporation is recruiting for a Senior Hydraulics Engineer to join the team in Calgary location. This position reports to the Manager, Hydraulics in Pipeline Operations Services, part of Pembina\xe2\x80\x99s Pipeline Division.The Operations Services team is committed to delivering Operational Excellence across the organization. This is defined by promoting Pembina\xe2\x80\x99s Safety Culture \xe2\x80\x93 Zero by Choice, maximizing pipeline throughput, and demonstrating a dedication to product quality.The Senior Hydraulics Engineer will lead a portfolio of technical services and focus on quality technical output and excellent customer service. This role requires mentoring of engineers and collaborating to stablish work processes.The successful candidate will display exceptional leadership skills. They will coordinate closely with multiple departments to enable the safe and optimal operation of Pembina\xe2\x80\x99s pipelines.Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Business Unit (BU) Portfolio Management.
  • Provide excellent customer service to deliver timely support through existing processes; and
  • Maintain a BU wide view of hydraulics KPIs .
  • Leadership: Provide mentorship to junior engineers. Foster a productive and collaborative working environment that encourages open communication, problem-solving, and continuous learning;
  • Simulations: Performs frequent transient hydraulic simulations;
  • Operational Readiness: Oversee hydraulics requirements for operational readiness to ensure smooth execution;
  • Short-term Capacity Reviews: Conduct regular reviews to discuss outages, operational issues, and inform key stakeholders;
  • Pressure Reductions: Manage and guide the implementation of pressure reductions, ensuring tasks are undertaken and completed effectively;
  • Process Safety: Lead hydraulic studies and issue Eng. Set-Points to maintain operational safety;
  • Engagement with Senior Staff: Foster strong relationships with senior staff to ensure effective communication, preparation, and execution of complex tasks; and
  • Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.
Key Customers:Logistics: Maintain regular engagement to support short-term drivers;
SPCC: Frequent engagement to maintain optimal operation and strict compliance with environmental and safety regulations;
Integrity: Ensure that our work processes support the long-term durability and reliability of our infrastructure; and
Projects: Collaborate to support scope development and transition from project to operation.Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in engineering, preferably with a focus on Chemical or Mechanical disciplines;
  • Strong relationships and engagement skills to effectively work with senior staff and key customers across multiple departments;
  • Hands-on experience in hydraulics or process simulations of a high volume nature;
  • Experience working in operations engineering roles within the pipeline industry;
  • Energetic, resilient, collaborative and goal oriented;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to present, influence and collaborate at all levels, using plain language.
  • Good interpretation, qualitative and quantitative analysis skills with an ability to simplify and concisely convey messages;
  • Shows a strong work ethic and a positive, proactive attitude, willing to take on any task regardless of its level;
  • Ability to perform in ambiguous situations - flexible, adaptable, learns quickly and demonstrates courage and perseverance; and
  • Commitment to continuous professional development of self and team.
The successful candidate must live within 100 km of Calgary, AB.The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position.
