Engineers and Geoscientists BC is currently searching for a Senior Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Burnaby!

The Senior HR Generalist reports to the Manager, Human Resources and will be a key senior contributor in developing, implementing, and maintaining human resources programs, policies, and initiatives. The Senior HR Generalist acts as a senior level resource supporting day-to-day HR operations as well as organizational change and development such as organizational culture, employee engagement, training and development, succession planning, safety, social responsibility and other related areas of HR.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Functioning as a senior level human resources professional and key contributor in both day-to-day and forward-looking projects and initiatives.
  • Functioning as a lead on key organizational development and change projects providing a clear vision and consistent effort to successfully advance projects through to completion.
  • Responsible for researching, drafting, reviewing and managing sound human resource policies, practices and procedures that are complex, clear, effective, and compliant and consistent with related legislation and organizational requirements.
  • Reviewing, assessing, and providing guidance on complex matters related to organizational culture and employee engagement. Leading discussions on assessing culture, strengths, areas of concern, and employee engagement.
  • Participating in and contributing toward initiatives related to workplace safety and safety related compliance including but not limited to participation in the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
  • Responsible for the development, implementation and management of employee training and development programs across the organization. Assessing existing processes and components in place and identifying opportunities for growth and maturation of the training and development program.
  • Acting as a senior contributor to the development and maintenance of the organization\xe2\x80\x99s succession plan, ensuring that people leaders are being developed across the organization and that employees at all levels have the opportunity to develop their skills to allow for cross functionality and movement within the organization.
  • Working with the Manager, HR and the organization\xe2\x80\x99s social responsibility leaders, contributes to developing and implementing initiatives, learning opportunities, and resources supporting equity, diversity and inclusion, truth and reconciliation and climate action.
  • Working on additional day-to-day Human Resources related tasks, initiatives, and projects including but not limited to those related to employee relations issues, compensation and benefits, workplace investigations, legal reviews, and formal employee communication in the form of letters, addendums, agreements or announcements.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

The successful applicant will possess the following:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Human Resources or a related field is required.
  • CPHR designation is required.
  • 7+ years of related human resources generalist experience showing distinct progression in senior responsibility, complexity, scope, and required competency.
  • 4+ years of senior level human resources generalist experience.
  • Experience with researching, drafting and implementing complex HR policy.
  • Experience researching, understanding and applying related employment standards and human rights and workplace safety legislation.
  • Experience with developing and implementing complex organizational development projects.
  • Experience working with confidential and/or sensitive personnel issues including complex investigations, performance management, and employee discipline and terminations.
  • Strong attention to detail, senior ability to work independently, and advanced critical thinking skills.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Able to craft clear, compelling written communication that not only informs but also connects with and understands the audience.
