Senior Human Resources Classification Advisor Contract

Job Description

Our Public Sector client is undertaking a significant organizational transformation and is seeking an experienced Senior Human Resources Classification Advisor to provide expert-level guidance on workforce structure, classification compliance, and organizational design.
This engagement will focus on reviewing existing classification frameworks, identifying structural gaps or overlaps, and presenting practical, actionable recommendations to senior leadership to support informed decision-making during a period of change.
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Review current organizational charts, job descriptions, and classification rationales
  • Conduct a comprehensive analysis of the classification structure to identify gaps, overlaps, and opportunities for optimization
  • Develop at least two viable reorganization options, including classification implications and compliance with Treasury Board standards
  • Prepare briefing materials for senior executives, including clear recommendations and supporting rationale
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and respond to questions
About You
The successful candidate will have the following:
  • Certificate, diploma or degree in human resources, organizational behaviour, social sciences or other relevant field from a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution
  • A Minimum of 5 years' experience within the past 7 years providing federal classification services, including organizational design and analysis for complex structures and presenting recommendations to senior executives
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience within the past 5 years working on classification or organizational design projects for real property or infrastructure-related positions in a large federal department*, including presenting recommendations to senior executives
  • Bilingual, Advanced oral, written, and comprehension skills in both English and French
  • Reliability Status clearance required

Location: Onsite: West end Ottawa
Work Environment: Onsite / Hybrid as required by operational needs
