The HR Generalist is available on request to support a variety of Human Resources tasks or initiatives, including advising people managers on the execution of performance management, coaching, corrective action issues, team building, employee development and compliance initiatives. This role will provide primary operational (day to day) support for the managers and employees within the organization. The position requires team participation and interfaces with all areas of Human Resources to provide exceptional and consistent support for managers and employees.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners (HRBP) and HR Centers of Expertise (CoE) colleagues to bring value and support to the business through the deployment of new and existing HR programs or tools including employee development, performance management, coaching, team building, compensation programs, HR technology, compliance initiatives, early career recruitment and activities.
  • Provide support for corporate initiatives and programs, such as employee engagement survey participation, communication of results and action planning with leaders and their teams.
  • Partner with managers on their people priorities such as employee development, career pathing, retention actions, annual merit compensation review cycle.
  • Advise and support managers to create and maintain a safe, positive, inclusive, and engaging work environment, in compliance with local laws, where all employees feel valued and see Rockwell Automation as a place where they can do their best work. Support managers to communicate and implement Diversity, Equity & Inclusion priorities.
  • Deliver HR training provided by the CoEs to managers and employees, such as new manager onboarding. Customize content for client group as needed.
  • Provide guidance to managers on performance management and actions required for improvement with the aim of preventing employee disputes. Represent company in employee disputes.
  • Manage, with input from manager and in cooperation with other HR colleagues, all voluntary terminations, and reductions in force, including planning, costing, and documentation.
  • Ensure local policies, procedures and employment documents are up to date according to local legal requirements.
  • Provide support as required for any company-wide changes, such as restructuring, assisting HRBPs with change management efforts.
  • Provide support for on-site audit/compliance reviews when necessary (regulatory/legal requirements).
  • Support data collection and analysis for such things as investigations, legal reviews, tax audits, EHS requirements, compensation guidance and decisions.
  • Support integration activities for acquisition/joint venture employees.
  • Support HR projects as assigned; may lead projects with guidance from HRBP.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years’ human resources experience, including direct, hands-on experience in managing employment issues in Canada.
  • Relevant university degree

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with manufacturing (hourly) employees and professional (salary) employees and various levels of management.
  • Experience work with a software company is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively across functional lines in a global matrixed environment.
  • Strong written and oral English communications skills, and strong influencing capabilities.
  • Experienced professional supporting programs within HR functional areas including; Employee Relations, Talent Effectiveness, Performance Management and Development, Talent Acquisition, Succession Planning, Leadership Review, Organizational Development, Diversity and Inclusion, Change Management.
