Position: Senior Full Stack - Software Developer
Duration: 1 Year assignment (contract)
Client Location: Toronto (Onsite: 7.25 hours/day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday)

About the Engagement
Akkodis is seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack - Software Developer to lead analysis, design, implementation, and testing activities within a complex public-sector environment undergoing modernization, microservices transformation, and security uplift. This role supports enterprise health-related systems and works closely with architects, business partners, QA teams, and DevOps engineers.
Scope
Document impacts of business/technical changes involving risk mitigation, AODA compliance, microservices migration, patching, end-of-life upgrades, and vulnerability remediation.
Assess impacts to UI, middleware, database schema, data model, reporting components, and security/authentication layers.
Identify risks associated with proposed changes.
Provide time estimates and validate project plans, sprint schedules, deliverable timelines.
Assignment Deliverables
Conduct impact analysis across UI, middleware, database, reporting, and security components.
Develop and validate updated system design documents for all affected components.
Implement code changes, unit testing, and updates to DevOps repositories.
Prepare deployment packages, including Release Change Lists and documentation.
Support integrated testing, UAT, and production promotion activities.
Expertise Required
Must Have:
Extensive experience delivering complex Public Sector or Health-related IT projects.
Strong knowledge of OPS methodologies (e.g., Unified I&IT, gating, EA standards).
10+ years with enterprise-scale full-stack technologies (ASP.NET Core, React, Spring Boot, Azure SQL, MySQL).
5+ years migrating legacy systems to microservices using Docker, Kubernetes, REST APIs, API Gateway.
Expertise in security: Azure Entra SSO, authentication, authorization, session management.
Proficiency in data modeling, stored procedures, functions, and ORM tools (Hibernate/NHibernate).
Strong experience with DevOps pipelines, GitHub, automated testing, and deployment workflows.
Ability to produce high-quality technical documentation for architecture and project governance.
Nice to Have:
Knowledge of AODA accessibility requirements.
Familiarity integrating external libraries/tools for email, reporting, or related services.
Exposure to public-sector EA review processes or checkpoint deliverables.
