The Technology Design, Architecture, & Cybersecurity (TDAC) Division is seeking two full stack developers to design and implement a Secure File Transfer Service (SFTS) that enables the secure exchange of large or sensitive files between internal teams, external partners. The platform will provide robust, scalable, and compliant file-sharing capabilities, ensuring business continuity and meeting security requirements. The selected resources will deliver the minimum viable product (MVP) and integrate it into the organization's technology ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide senior full-stack development services to the SFTS team, working on both the front-end and back-end development using modern technology stacks, platforms and tools suited for a containerized and virtualized application development.
  • Designing, creating, customizing, integrating, configuring, testing, implementing, or otherwise developing features and functionality that contribute to the SFTS MVP.
  • Performing database management including data modelling, querying, optimization, and maintenance, to improve data integrity, scalability and performance;
  • Developing, testing, and maintaining build system, CI/CD frameworks, and tools that support both virtual and container technology and maintaining high-resiliency and high-availability of the applications and services;
  • Developing processes to build and perform automated tests, package, deploy, and promote cloud-ready applications and services; and
  • Ensure the SFTS MVP meets robust authentication business processes by configuring and integrating a centralized point of entry that grants users the ability to be authenticated via different identity providers;
  • Perform code reviews and data model analysis to ensure quality that meets or exceeds the client's applicable standards.
  • Participate in an agile team, by joining agile ceremonies, estimation exercises, demos and community presentations, as well as providing demonstrations of the MVP's components to stakeholders during community presentations and sprint reviews.
  • Work with the clients team to provide consistent refinement and updates to the documentation over the duration of the project;
  • Attend all agile rituals such as daily stand ups, backlog grooming, sprint planning and review, updating the team on their work as it pertains to the SFTS MVP elements; and
  • Assist the Ministry with developing materials that are required for Agile rituals such as providing documentation and presenting technical overviews to stakeholders when required.
  • Conducting workshops, training sessions, and code review to facilitate the transfer of knowledge;
  • Establishing communication channels to enable the incoming team to ask questions and seek clarification; and
  • Ensuring the incoming team has the necessary resources, access and support to take ownership of the project.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in designing, creating, customizing, integrating, configuring, implementing, testing or otherwise developing features and functionality with technologies; React; Node.js Spring boot; Redis; Postgres DB; GitHub; and JIRA
  • Experience with Libraries designed to handle large file uploads such as Resumable.js; Antivirus software such as Clam AV; Messaging such as NATS or Kafka; Log federations tools such as Splunk or Kibana; Object storage solutions such as S3; Authentication protocols such as OIDC or OAuth 2.0; Container platforms such as OpenShift or Docker; and Cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
  • Performing database management including data modelling, querying, optimization, and maintenance, to improve data integrity, scalability and performance;
  • Developing, testing and maintaining build system, CI/CD frameworks and tools that support both virtual and container technology and maintaining high-resiliency and high-availability of the applications and services;
  • Developing processes to build and perform automated tests, package, deploy and promote cloud-ready applications and services; and Software testing and test automation.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in working on software projects in a development role on application where security is paramount and secure coding practices/guidelines were stringently adhered to;
  • Minimum 6 years of experience working on software projects in a development role that simplified authentication for diverse users through a centralized point of entry that grants users the ability to be authenticated via different identity providers;
  • Experience in review, analyze and maintain a high quality of code, data models and documentation that meets or exceeds the client's applicable standards and
  • Should have substantial experience with agile development methodology and agile rituals, including with working on an agile team and overcoming the challenges faced in an agile environment.
