Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced

Oracle APEX and ORDS Developer

to design, develop, and maintain robust web applications using Oracle APEX with backend integration via Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS). You will participate in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), from requirements gathering through to deployment and ongoing maintenance, ensuring applications meet security, performance, and accessibility standards.

Key Responsibilities

Translate technical specifications into working, tested Oracle APEX applications incorporating advanced features such as interactive reports, charts, and dynamic actions. Develop and maintain RESTful APIs using Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS) for seamless backend integration with Oracle databases. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues arising during development, implementation, migration, or operation. Conduct design walkthroughs and collaborate closely with project teams, stakeholders, and non-technical users. Ensure compliance with security best practices for web applications. Provide post-implementation support and resolve production issues promptly. Prepare and maintain thorough technical and user documentation. Facilitate knowledge transfer and support smooth transition to operations teams. Assist in evaluating legacy systems and provide recommendations for modernization ('to be' state). Participate actively in team workflows using Kanban/DevOps tools.
Required Skills and Experience

Technical Expertise (Minimum 10+ years):

Proven application development using Oracle APEX, including advanced components. Strong experience with Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS) for API development. In-depth knowledge of Oracle database technologies: SQL, PL/SQL, data modeling. Solid understanding of full SDLC processes and modern web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript). Experience ensuring application and platform security aligned with best practices. Familiarity with cloud platforms, specifically Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Performance tuning and optimization experience.

General Skills:

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical team members. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Knowledge of Information Management principles and AODA accessibility standards. Experience in documenting technical procedures and facilitating knowledge transfer sessions.

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: From $70.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36.25 per week
