What We're Looking For:





Northern is seeking an experienced and strategic

Senior Freelance Copywriter

to join our extended creative team. In this role, you'll lead the development of

high-impact copy

and messaging

for websites, brand platforms, performance marketing campaigns, product launches, and digital experiences

across multiple industries.



You'll be a key partner to designers, strategists, and marketing leads, bringing a sharp creative POV, crafting original concepts, and elevating how our clients show up in the market. We're looking for someone who can not only write great copy but think deeply about tone, narrative structure, and how language shapes customer experience.



Experience

writing for enterprise brands or complex organizations

is a strong asset, particularly in contexts where brand governance, layered stakeholder feedback, or multi-audience messaging is required.

What You'll Be Doing:





Lead copy development across client engagements

, from campaign creative to full website rewrites,

brand messaging, and digital content strategy

Translate complex briefs

into clear, actionable messaging frameworks and creative concepts Craft copy that aligns with

brand tone, engages audiences, and meets business and marketing objectives

. Present it with clarity and conviction to win over clients in project reviews. Guide messaging strategy and

tone of voice for new brand platforms

and seasonal campaigns Collaborate with designers, project leads, and clients in a fast-paced, creative environment Balance big-picture thinking with flawless execution, delivering work that is creative, strategic, and always on-brand


What You'll Bring:





6+ years of copywriting experience,

with a strong portion in a senior or lead role Portfolio demonstrating

concept-driven work across web, performance marketing, brand development, and storytelling

Proven

experience working with enterprise-level clients

or complex stakeholder environments A strategic mindset, able to align messaging with business and user needs Advanced ability to adapt tone of voice across industries and platforms Confidence in

presenting and defending creative work,

both internally and with clients Deep familiarity with digital best practices including

SEO, UX writing, accessibility, and content strategy
