What you will do
The main function of this senior position is to complete inspections, installation projects and service and repair work on Fire Alarm Systems. Work with limited supervision and provide specialized training and direction to less senior technicians and trainees. Required to guide service delivery and monitor performance of inspection and service activities. Ensure timely completion of service and inspection activities according to the schedule; keep open communication with office staff on any updates from the field or customer. Provide a complicated level of technical support and the highest level of customer service while servicing, inspecting and/or installing Simplex and other multi-vendor products. Participate as an area technical support resource for fire alarm field team. Program, Inspect and Verification of all product lines including Special Hazard and Pre-Action systems. Possess working knowledge of the most complicated system installations including custom voice messaging, smoke control, network audio switching, and TSW programming. Assist Fire Alarm Supervisor and Service Manager with other team development and training tasks as needed.
How you will do it
Documented experience in low voltage electrical systems.
Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, programs schematics and operational/product manuals.
Experience in preparing and delivering high quality inspection and verification reports, and other documentation as required.
Experience with hand tools and multi-meter usage.
Demonstrated aptitude for troubleshooting systems and performing necessary repairs.
What you will do
Required
8+ years of experience in low voltage electrical systems and Fire and /or Life Safety Systems experience required.
Fire Alarm System Programming or Installation training (Simplex or other multi-vendor FACP).
Demonstrated supervisory or team lead experience.
CFAA Certification.
Technical training or certification such as Electronics Technologist training or equivalent.
Possess a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements.
Demonstrates an aptitude for troubleshooting systems.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50 lbs.
Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer requirements as needed.
Participate in rotating "On-Call" schedule.
Willing to travel out of town including overnight lodging.
Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
Ability to work well with others.
Self-starter that can work without supervision.
Ability to adhere to, implement, and always follow safety guidelines and procedures.
Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and ability to learn quickly.
Able to obtain and retain any licenses that are required by National, Provincial and Local codes.
