We are an oil and natural gas exploration and production company with operations focused in Central and Northern Alberta. We are actively growing, both through the development of our current asset base and through the acquisition of additional properties in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin, with organic growth focused on our Alberta Montney asset that represents the largest privately held Montney position in the basin. Hawthorne Energy LLC operates in Canada through our wholly-owned subsidiary HWN Energy, Ltd.

HWN Energy, Ltd. is currently seeking to fill the following position:

Job Title: Senior Financial Reporting Specialist



Location: Calgary



Reports to: VP of Finance and Accounting



Reporting to the Vice President Finance and Accounting and working closely with the Financial Accounting team, this role requires an individual who can work efficiently and accurately in a high-volume environment. In-depth knowledge of oil and gas production terminology and accounting processes, internal and external communication skills along with good organization are critical for the success of this individual.

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:



Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements and MD&A in compliance with industry standards and applicable regulations (IFRS, securities regulators). Prepare quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements for US Parentco and borrowing requirements. Prepare internal monthly management report highlighting key performance indicators. Assist in developing annual budgets and periodic forecasts. Research pronouncements and maintain compliance of all financial reporting obligations. Manage Canadian and United States tax compliance. Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard financial assets and ensure data integrity. Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements. Collaborate with cross functional teams to gather relevant financial information. Indepth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards, Microsoft 365, Qbyte FM,

Qualifications and Requirements:



Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field Professional designation (CPA) required. Proven experience in financial reporting within the Oil and Gas industry. Strong knowledge of industry specific accounting principles and regulations. Proficient in financial software and ERP systems. Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills Demonstrated skills in leadership, project management, risk, and time management Ability to manage multiple operations concurrently
